The interesting plastic food displays at Bishamon's outlet attracted me to try their ramen during my ramen hunting period. Have ordered the basic Chashu Ramen, where it was served hot not long after I ordered. The presentation looks exactly the same as the plastic display and I love that they were very generous with the thick chashu slices. The ramen had a good elastic springy texture and the broth was deliciously rich and yummy. There were no egg in this ramen but I figured that you can order the egg separately, which I didn't. The chashu slices may be thick and flavourful but for some reasons I didn't enjoy it, I personally find it a little tough and dry for my liking and perhaps it could be overcooked for awhile that day. However, I love everything else about the ramen. 繼續閱讀

Another visit at Bishamon. During dinnertime, even though there isn't a queue, there is always a constant stream of diners at this place. We got the Avocado and Prawn Salad as our starter. The prawn was very succulent and crunchy. Lettuce and avocado tasted fresh and went well with the salad dressing which was considerately served at the side. This allows you to pour as much or as little dressing on your salad as you wish. The salad included sweet corn and cherry tomatoes and it looked really attractive aesthetically.Next, I ordered the Assari Seafood Shio Ramen. At that point of time, I did not actually know what shio means but decided to give it a try. Having just googled "shio", it means salty. The ramen looked like maggi mee and it was springy but harder than Ajisen's ramen. The prawns in the salad tasted the same as the prawns in the salad. You get some black fungi and bamboo shoots. The soup was definitely saltier than the miso soup but I guess that was what I ordered. Nonetheless, it was a tasty meal. 繼續閱讀

Bishamon is current running a very enticing promotion – 50% off all Ramen on Wednesdays! As the husband and I were craving for something soupy on a cold Wednesday evening, this promotion was too good to be missed. We both ordered their signature Original Miso Ramen (U.P. $14.20++) but was quite disappointed. The char shu was served cold (likely it was just placed as a topping without heating up) through the soup was considerably warm – a definite turn off! The noodles were still acceptable though it could have been more springy. The saving grace came from the soup base which was really thick and authentic. The husband practically spared no effort in slurping up the entire bowl. Overall, it was a very worthy meal and considerably satisfying meal. 繼續閱讀

The chawanmushi here (which is also known as the Japanese steamed egg custard) has that extra x-factor as they are really smooth and you can find quite a big piece of fresh crunchy prawn topped on it, which not only add in the colour to this dish and also added that extra sweetness to this egg custard. The price is reasonable and I will usually order it during every visit to this restaurant and goes well with almost all the main courses. 繼續閱讀

Went there with two other friends to try their ramen and we were very dissapointed. The noodles tasted like any food court grade ramen noodles. Soup does not taste good and is a far cry from authentic ramen stores. Also, the menu is priced on the high side. 繼續閱讀
