It is hard to find using charcoal to cook any kind of food in Singapore. Charcoal cooking is always the best to method as it is more tasty. I love to eat Hokkien Mee so hubby's friend recommend us to go n try.Taste: First taste inside the mouth the food has charcoal smell. Abit disappointed as It  is too dry n the gravy pork smell is not strong enough.Self Service but auntie is very friendly when serve the food. Price : $5 min 繼續閱讀

Hokkien Mee cooked over charcoal fire is a rare find in Singapore. Luckily, situated in a corner of Lorong 29 in idyllic Geylang sits Swee Guan Hokkien Mee. This hokkien mee really packs a punch in terms of both taste and smell. The fresh looking prawns and sotongs looks as delicious as any top hokkien mee outlets in town. While waiting for other dishes to arrive, the mee is still very 'Q' when almost cold, and still taste very good! The only downside is that there was no pork lard added to the Hokkien Mee. 繼續閱讀

This is the famous hokkien mee along Geylang that uses charcoal instead of electrical stove. The stall owner fry the hokkien mee in large batch each time.I was lucky that when i reaches i was able to get hold of one of these ready to serve hokkien mee. Each batch of waiting time is definitely more than 15 minutes. The hokkien mee($5) is the drier version. The use of charcoal really brings out the wok hei in the hokkien mee and i like that they added pork lards in it.The prawns and squid are fresh since both taste sweet. The noodles are well cooked too,not too soft nor soggy. So far this the only place that i know of that is still using charcoal to cook the hokkien mee. 繼續閱讀

Bought home a pack of hokkien mee from this stall, when I ate at home it is still moist and fragrant Not many hokkien mee has small cubes of fried pork fat, thus it has enhance the overall texture and flavour. Their belachan chilli is not too spicy still ok for me. The lime gave a freshing taste of the noodles. 繼續閱讀

The FoodI ordered Fried Hokkien Mee and the noodles are fried in a charcoal stove with very good wok hei and the flavours of the stock blended very well which is absorbed by the noodles. Tasted a bit oily, quite wet but very delicious. The ServiceWaiting time take around 15mins during peak hours hence overall quite good. The AmbienceAs the stall is located at coffeeshop hence is well-ventilated.The PriceI ordered the $5.00 portion which have more noodles, 4 medium size prawns and quite a number of cuttlefish.OverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this! 繼續閱讀
