The soup, I believe is made of the yellow beans and despite them having a snaking line, it is very considerate of the stall vendor to deliver the bowl to where you're sitting.

It is probably also due to the fact that there are plenty of elderly who are also frequent the store.

Noted for its freshest and home made Dou Fu, Yong Xiang Xing Dou Fu marked the longest queue among other People's Park complex Food Centre's hawkers. It may seems boring having to queue about 20 minutes just to savour a bowl of fix selection of Yong Tau Fu with no noodles/rice or Bee Hoon and the stall is only opened at 1pm. At 1pm, the stall was lighted up with consistent number of patrons joining the queue, it's just never ending. But not to worry, there are 3 uncles walking about serving the pipping hot bowls of YFT to our table after we had ordered and the speed was pretty fast, within 5 minutes after ordering. The uncles are all very cheerful, wearing a smile as they served us.

There's a price hike of a dollar. Each items comes in pair except for fish balls, they came in 3.
If you ever doubt the queue, everything was well revealed in the hot bowl of soup! The ngoh Hiong tastes fresh with the cripsy bean curd skin wrapping up the fish paste. Yums!

Cost: S$4.00

The bean curd is so slippery and the small patch of minced meat on top of it tastes fresh as well. A simple yet fulfilling dish enjoyed!

Even before the stall opens for business, you can already see a queue. It opens after 1pm and closes when they sells out what they have for the day. I dabao-ed home the yong tau foo and it still tasted good. Soup was flavourful. The ingredients cannot be chosen though. So if you do not like any of the ingredients, you'd have to make do with it. It is good but I don't think I will be willing to queue up 30 minutes for this.

This Stall serves the nicest & freshest handmade yong tau foo in Chinatown.
What I like most is the fried beancurd skin. It is veri crispy on the outside and the meat inside is tender and juicy combined with the natural savoury and sweetness taste of the soup.
The fishballs also fresh and bouncy.

The Service
As I went on weekends late afternoon, the queue is super long. The stall opened at 1pm and close at 4pm. In the morning, they handmade and prepare all the ingredients hence is opened so late. One good thing is that the food was delivered to me in few minutes after I order.

The Ambience
Although the stall is in a hawker center, i find that the place was well-ventilated and not stuffy hence still acceptable

The Price
Reasonably priced at $3.50 per bowl, definitely worth the money and time !!

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!

This stall has the craziest queue in this food centre. The queue started even before the stall is ready for business. I counted when i was there. There were more than 30 people in the queue. I waited for about 30 minutes to order. I ordered, told them my table number then wait for it to be served to my table. I did not get to select what i want or do not want to eat. All the items are pre-selected for $3.50 a bowl. All the items tasted really fresh served in a bowl of flavorsome soup. My favour

All the items tasted really fresh served in a bowl of flavorsome soup. My favourite got to be the tau pok with fish paste as well as those ngor hiang. It has got a simple but old school taste.

My family is Hakka and when we came to People's Food Centre for lunch on Sunday, my dad INSISTED that I try the legendary Yong Tau Fu, which only opens for an hour or so at lunch time, selling till they run out of ingredients. We had to queue about 30 mins or so, and when it was finally served to us I was surprised. I am used to the "modern" yong tau fu; served with noodles/rice, different soups, with a selection of ingredients to choose from. This however, was a fixed ingredient dish with a clear soup and no noodles or rice. My dad explained that this was the original Hakka Yong Tau Fu, and this stall was around even before the establishment of food centres in Singapore. He said it used to cost 80cents a bowl!

To be honest, I didn't find anything fantastic about the food. The soup was flavorful, but nothing to rave about. The stuffed tofu, fried items, and fishballs were normal. But I found myself growing to like it as I ate; the combination of the soup and ingredients, plus the chilli+sweet sauce combo sauce, matched each other very well. It was surprisingly filling and "just right" for me, and despite all the fried stuff it didn't feel too oily, probably because it was freshly made. Quite a nice change from the heavy and oily hawker food. I still think that it's something I'm not used to but I would definitely try it again when I go back!

Do note that the yong tau fu cannot be chose, it is $3.50 per bowl for about 8 standard pieces. I've to admit the queue is CRAZY though, i queue about 20-25mins. Wheareas the nearby koo kee is prob 5mins only (Unless Yong Xiang Xin closes then queue will form at koo kee)!
A regret would be I've hope Yong Xiang Xin can have rice to go with it so that it's more satisfying for my hungry stomach~ haha!

A must-try Yong Tau Foo in Singapore. One of the best for which i have tasted so far. The queue is like never-ending. It is one of the hot favourite in that food centre. However, it only open after 1.30pm. Good food deserve the wait. This style of Yong Tau Foo do not allow you to choose what you want. It is pre-selected. All the ingredients are delicious and fresh.
