Though the chilled beancurd custard is getting popular with more and more shops and stalls opening at different corner of Singapore but my favorite is still the traditional beancurd.It is the cheaper alternative too. A bowl of such beancurd is only about 0.60 cents as compared to the $2.00 for a bowl of original chilled beancurd custard and about $2.50 for a bowl of flavored chilled beancurd.. I got a bowl of the traditional beancurd served in those traditional bowl for just 0.60 cents from this stall. For the amount of $2.00, i can have at least 3 bowls of the traditional beancurd and still less with 0.20 cents. Upon order, the Auntie slowly scooped the beancurd from a bucket then added in the sugar syrup to serve.I like how it served in the blue and white porcelain bowl just like in yesteryear. It seemed to be tasted better this way too. The texture of the jellied beancurd was soft and very smooth. The sweetness of the syrup balanced it up by giving it the delightful sweet taste.
