We heard that claypot chicken is the best so my mom decided to buy 1 and share it among us. The chicken was tender and it did absorb the sauce. The rice is fluffy but not to wet from the sauce. Everything was blended well and we might try it again when my mom decided to make another trip to Singapore.

Just hope they have other dishes aside from claypot chicken rice because if you eat it everyday with the same dish it will be boring.

While the price of this claypot rice might put some people off since it was relatively more expensive compared to the other dishes on offer, we felt that it was value for money, in lieu consideration of its quality, quantity and of course the location.

Served in a classic claypot, it was brimming full with ingredients such as chunks of tender chicken, Chinese sausage and slices of Chinese mushroom to enrich the flavours and fragrance. We enjoyed the tender chicken but admittedly, I could barely taste any salted fish in it. While this was shared among the table and a chunk or two of the salted fish was added in, I would have preferred it more if it was diced and evenly distributed so that one can get to enjoy the savouriness of the salted fish paired with the well-flavoured chicken in each mouthful. Not to mention the fragrance of the sesame oil and Chinese wine! Despite being the smaller version, the portion size would be sufficient to feed two people easily.

We also liked that the rice was just nice, not overly damp which would otherwise ruin the texture of the dish; In fact, there were three different kinds of rice in the dish for a soft fluffy texture and it was a small step in marking a great difference.

The chicken meat was dry and rough, maybe because I got all the breast meat. The chinese sausages tasted good with enough of sweetness, saltiness and fatty bits. The rice was good, with enough charred aroma and good dark soya sauce.

I really like the claypot rice here! It is super tasty and the dark sauce is oily but very flavourful. I like the chicken pieces inside the rice cause they are piping hot and cooked within the rice so they get the sauce flavour too. The pieces of chicken are also very tender and flavourful. The rice itself is nice and the burnt bits on the bottom are the best. $8 for a small claypot. The claypot rice is also available in $12 portions which is significantly larger than the 8 dollars one. If you are in a big group it makes a lot more sense to get this one cause its alot more value for money. There is the option of salted fish version too which costs a few dollars more. I cant really taste the salted fish though so not worth the extra money.

The Malysian Food Street at Sentosa really has lots of delicious food offerings. One of my favourite dishes found here is the Claypot Chicken Rice with Salted Fish. The rice is coated in the most delicious dark sauce mix and the grains are all very flavourful! The chicken pieces are generous, juicy and tasty. The salted fish is really sparse though, I could barely taste it. It will be perfect if there was more fish!

This was my first time trying claypot rice at this famed outlet. I definitely did not regret the choice! My favourite part of the claypot dish was the burnt rice bits at the bottom. The burnt rice is so crunchy and delicious with a slightly smokey flavour. Although it is unhealthy this is worth the health risk! The chicken claypot rice has chunks of juicy chicken in it too! But the star is the rice in this $15 dish.

Seems like we're on a feast of chicken rice, well, as you can see there's only a photo of us snapping the picture of the claypot rice WHILE it was being cooked. You know why? I don't know if I would be bias to say that it was delicious because I was really really hungry that time. But there was a really long queue (both for ordering and one for collection). I think they might need mroe stoves, since charcoal don't really cook things fast isn't it?

Price-wise, it was quite affordable. Only $6 for quite a large pot, I think you can share it between an adult and a child because I couldn't really finish it! It was really hot standing tehre, try to get a seat first. DON't take away.

This stall requires an average waiting time of 30-45 minutes for the claypot rice to be ready once you placed your order. There will be a round thing given to you so that you are able to head back to your table first and once your food is ready, the thing will beep and you can then go back to the stall and collect it. The claypot rice is filled with big pieces of chicken and lup cheong. The soya sauce also goes well with the rice. The chicken pieces are really big and tender as well. Overall it is nice.

After about 20 mins it was ready. We ordered the ones with added salt fish. The chicken pieces was well marinated but the rice was a bit soggy from all the sauce on it. We were not given separate sauce to pour on our rice as the sauce were already on the rice. I did not like that the rice is soft. Not sure if the standard drop due to the crowd even though it was early for Sat dinner.

Huen Kee Claypot is famous in KL not only for how tasty their claypot rice is but also how they are cooked. They are cooked over hot charcoal stove! Chicken claypot rice ($6). Contains rice, marinated chicken and lap cheong. When you open the claypot cover, hot steam puffs out together with the fragrant smell of rice and chicken. They don't scrimp on the chicken, you get a drumstick, a wing and a couple of other chunky chicken parts. The chicken is very well marinated, tender and tastes fantastic. The rice is also very fragrant. It's not overcooked, so the outer layer is slightly hard but the insides are still soft and chewy. The rice is cooked in chicken broth to give its flavour. Also, before the claypot rice is served, a mixture of soya sauce, sesame sauce, hua diao jiu was drizzled over the rice to give the additional OOMPH in flavour.
