For more reviews, visit www.umakemehungry.comPontian Wanton Noodles should be quite known by now as it has a number of branches in the malls as well as hawker centres. Pontian Wanton Noodles left me a big impression many years back for their noodles were different from the rest of the noodle stalls. Why? Noodles that were take away from their stall are not easily expanded as compared to the rest and I have always enjoy this advantage.I had visited their Graffiti cafe in Orchard and I'm so glad to see them in JEM. Likewise, the interior of their outlet in JEM is Graffiti themed scribbled with aplenty of messages on the wall. Quality of tables and chairs were a great resemblance of kindergarten schools settings with bright color paints.Self service is observed in the restaurant and with the help of the buzzer system, patrons will know when their food are ready and receive them from the collection point. With 60 years of history serving springy, bouncy noodles as well as crispy fried wantons. I would say their product lives up to the name. With varies sauce available and even noodles with cheese (interesting selection). Its good that they have a good selection of sauce, even tomato sauce.Fried Wantons were addictive but their wantons in soup that comes in the meal was addictive too. Smooth with good ratio of fillings and skin.Unable to resist temptations, we order a side of their fried wanton. Condiments like chilli and Mayonnise are all available from their side station. The set comes with Bur Bur Hitam (Black Glutinous Rice) as our choice of dessert. It was not too bad with coconut milk on top.Another dessert we had was red bean soup as they ran out of Barley Gingko. The red bean soup caught me by surprise as it was more towards a concentrated dessert than watery soup based dessert. For more variety and set meal, it would be best to visit their graffiti cafe as the conventional stall in hawker center only carries the traditional food items which you may find in a wanton stall. 繼續閱讀

was wandering around the top level of Jem, thinking of what to eat when i chanced upon Graffiti Cafe. This place serves Pontian Wanton Noodles! But the interior is a bit unique. The walls have graffiti-esque sprayings on all the walls, and even scribblings left by previous customers. However, the tables and chairs looks as if it belongs to a kindergarten with its pastel colours.Anyway i placed my order. I got a bowl of Pontian Wanton Noodles ($4), though they have a set meal which comes with the wanton noodles and a hot drink or hot dessert (tao sua, red bean etc). I was feeling thirsty and so i opted for the ala-carte noodles and got a canned drink for $1.30.I was handed the disc which will light up when the food is ready. The ingredients looks as if it has been placed there haphazardly. But it is still the Pontian noodles which i know and love! Yummy~ The noodles are tossed in black sauce and i added chilli for the extra flavour. The noodles are also not soggy and cooked just right. 繼續閱讀

It was slightly after lunch time and I was shopping at JEM with my girlfriend. We were walking around the food court to explore the variety of food that we could eat. We happened to chance upon Graffiti Cafe at one corner of the food court. The colourful decoration of the cafe attracted us. I ordered the wanton mee set $5, it came with their signature wanton noodles and a drink or a dessert. I opted for their hot tea. as i stood there watching the lady prepare my drink. I was amazed that she added condensed milk and evaporated milk. cos for teh-c, it is tea with evaporated milk, for teh, it is tea with condensed milk. But apparently mine had both so I guess it was a fusion. In fact it tasted pretty good; the evaporated milk gave the drink its milkiness while the evaporated milk gave the tea its sweetness. The wanton noodles is priced slightly higher than other places' but we customers are not short changed. Most wanton noodles that I ate outside have only two fried wanton and two soup ones, but here at Graffiti Cafe, there are three fried and three soup ones. The noodles are very springy. The gravy is very tasty cos i spotted a few pieces of lard, but nevertheless, taste is most important. 繼續閱讀
