I love their dim sum! The price for the dim sum is still quite affordable. The quality of food is much better than crystal jade KITCHEN. Crystal jade palace is consider fine dining in their group. (1)Shrimp Dumpling ... The prawn is SO FRESH and ! I was surprise when I bite on the prawn.. It is juicy... and not too oily.. I rank this as the nicest fried shrimp dumpling I ever tried... It was a good surprise because the prawn really taste so fresh... ( because normally I don't really like deep fried shrimp dumpling..either too dry or too oily that make me sick about it )...(2)Shrimp Rice Roll ... Again the prawn is very fresh... not bad.. however, personally I prefer the skin of the Rice roll can be even more thin..haha.... My favorite Shrimp Rice Roll is at Imperial Treasure Noodles and Congee House ( Ion Orchard)... (3)Century Egg with pork Congee ... The congee is so smooth... cannot really see the "rice" inside ... I have list this as one of my favorite congee..Will sure order them again next time!(4)Siew Mai There is pork and prawn inside... Have went to this Chinese restaurant with my fellow family members to enjoy the yummy Chinese cuisines here. As I wasn't feeling too well on that afternoon, I decided to order their sliced fish porridge only. THe food was served to me in less than ten minutes, which was quite impressive. The service staff is friendly and warm in service. Porridge was served to me really hot and fresh. Generous amount of sliced fish meat can be found inside the porridge, which are fresh and soft in texture. Even though not much sauce is added to it, it still taste great! This Chinese restaurant not only have very nice dining ambience, the service here is also very friendly and good! Was really glad that I have attend my cousin's wedding lunch in this restaurant, if not I would not know such a nice venue for Chinese cuisines. Unfortunately as I was caught in a very heavy traffic jam while travelling to this restaurant. When I reached there, the event was going to end. My cousin, who is also sitting at my table, only managed to reserve a bowl of their signature fried rice for me. Rest of the dishes were so delicious that all have been completed by the guests. Fortunately the fried rice served was in quite generous portion, which I manage to try it. Rice was totally filled with the fragrant from the eggs and other ingredients used in cooking it. Rice was at the correct texture, which is not too soggy. The added spring onion also has enhanced the taste of the rice and make it more appearing. This chinese restaurant is decorated really nice and with lots of traditional decoration on the wall. I will normally ask my family to join me for lunch in this restaurant as here have my favourite roasted meats. The roasted pork belly is definitely a must buy item as the outer crust is very crunchy and not too oily. The pork meat is chewy and tender too. Roasted duck is equally delicious and really juicy. Love everything that this restaurant has to offer: Dim Sum, Roast Meats, Soups, Seafood, Congee, Fried Rice, Desserts. Food is consistently fresh and good quality. This is not a fine dining restaurant. Service is above average. This restaurant not has one of the nicer and cosy layout which you will enjoy for a meal, they also have quite many fine chinese cruisines that will delight you as well. The fried kway teow is one of my favourite as it is full of the fragrant from the generous amount of ingredients added in it, which includes the fresh crunchy prawns, juicy pork meat, scrambled eggs and fresh green vegetables. I had always been under the impression that Crystal Jade Palace and Crystal Jade Golden Palace were one and the same restaurant. But a chance dining encounter at Crystal Jade Palace some weeks back proved otherwise.Like its equally upscale sibling, Crystal Jade Palace boasts a tastefully designed interior that oozes contemporary Chinese chic at its store in Ngee Ann City. And what's surprising is that amidst the recession, the place was packed to the rafters by about 8pm. And you would think that such an upscale Chinese restaurant would see a decline in patronage.Double Boiled Shark Bone Soup - The restaurant's shark bone soup was honestly not my cup of tea. It came across as way too milky for my liking and rather bland. And the sticking point was the thick layer of residue it left on my tongue.Roasted Pork Belly - I'm a sucker for roasted pork belly and this one had crackling crisp skin above proportionately lean meat that wasn't too dry or salty. I would have loved to have seconds if not for my very strained wallet.Roast Duck - The roast duck's skin wasn't crisp and there was a lingering fowl taste. Decent nonetheless but I've had way better and definitely not worth the 18 bucks.Broccoli with Crab Roe - Tasty but the gravy was a little too starchy which made me nauseous after a bit. However, the serving of crab meat was generous and the broccoli, cooked just right, which more then made up for it. Best eaten with rice.Deep Fried Ice Cream - Overinflated best describes the deep fried ice cream, which had a thin hot air inflated crust that looked and tasted like what you would find in goreng pisang. And within that crust lay a scoop of peach flavoured ice cream that seemed to be melting at an exponential speed. Decent.Durian Pudding - Durian shreds embedded within smooth and chilled pudding that promised a glimpse of the real mccoy. What's not to like However I prefer puree or real durian flesh anytime.Dinner for 2 crossed the century mark. I am not sure that the quality of food commands such a high price tag and I definitely favour Golden Palace over this, even with the not too recent disappointment. A friend treat me to here when she just got her salary. We ordered Chinese tea and coke. The things here were quite expensive as one can of Coke cost $3.80 compared to $1.20 sold in food courts. They served prawn crackers and pickles which they charge at $3 per plate when i saw the receipt. The menu has meat dishes, seafood and also vegetable dishes. Next, we ordered Steam Garoupa. It was very presentable as the fish were served with spring onion and parsley on top of the fish which makes it very irresistable. The fish meat was firm and fresh. Although the fish cost us $84 according to market price by the grams, we find it worth the money.The broth of the sharkfin/fish maw soup was tasty and sweet. It was $152 per pot. It was our first time visiting and we ordered the signature Ginseng Chicken Soup, bbq beef and prawns. They will serve appetiser which consist of 6 small dishes (Kimchi, salad and veggies) before your meals are served. However, it's not cheap! The Korean BBQ meat was tasty and soft! The sauce is really nice and fragrant. As for the Ginseng chicken soup, it was pretty nice and strong. However, the chicken was a little bloody. That makes me turn off!
