Abit disappointed at the first bite. Tastes like the traditional Fa Gou, the plain steamed cake which mom always buy to pray to god. Sold at $1.60 a loaf (4 slices), this bread has been touted as being trans-fat free and healthy. Besides this spinach flavour bread there is also the carrot flavoured ones. The colour of the bread is pretty nice and the bread taste bland probably due to it being healthier. The bread however lacks the spinach taste and if it wasn't told that it was spinach, one would not be able to tell by its taste. Crystal Jade bakery sells a variety of dim sum ranging from patries to puffs to egg tarts and of course baos, i.e. steamed buns. These buns are sold to customers chilled in a packet of 6 and customers have to steam them at home before consumption. The buns are stuffed with char siew (pork with red sauce) and carries a sweet taste. The bun itself is slightly fluffy and taste best when it is served piping hot. i happened to be shopping at ang mo kio hub with my mum when she suggested we buy our breakfast from crystal jade my bread. I selected one of their recommend buns, the luncheon meat egg bun. I didn’t eat it until the next day. It was really good, the luncheon meat was not too thick slice so it was not too salty. The egg taste much like the Japanese egg, very smooth. I have not seen these sponge cakes for a long time, and I decided to buy one of these. It is so much more expensive at Crystal Jade at $1.20 per cake. I remembered I used to get these at only 70cents per cake at neighbourhood bakeries a few years back. The cake smelt very fragrant with pandan infused taste. It is very soft and very light as well. The sweetness level is slightly sweet for me, but it is still ok. I enjoyed the taste a lot. However, the price is slightly too expensive for me to buy this frequently.…查看更多

I love the bo luo pau from crystal jade bakery store. The custed sugar on top of the bun is tasty. It bring out the fragrant of the whole bun. This is really more like a snack. With its chewy green tea enterior encloses a custard filling. The custard is sweetened just right and is more sturdy than liquidy. The pancake is just so good with the custard. You really have to try it to understand what I mean. I liked my pancake to be crispy, so I added some oil into a pan and fried it. This is my first time trying durian tart so I was filled with anticipation and curiosity. However, it appears that the tart is not made of genuine durian. It tastes as though there is some gula melaka in it. Above the tart, there is a layer of green paste which taste like kaya to me. The crust is soft and not of the crispy kind.
