Heard raves about this Lao Fu Zi Fried Kway Teow and thought of dropping by Old Airport Road to give it a try. Queued for almost 1.5 hours, ordered 3 packets for my family and one plate for myself. The dine in's taste was great! However, the takeaways, when I reached home it was cold and taste like any other Fried Kway Teow. One thing I saw in the queue though, sometimes the auntie takes wrong order and when it's cooked already, they would take it out and ask those in the queues if they want to

But normally, it's those $5 or $10 portions so I wouldn't think about it if I'm eating it myself.

This is indeed one of the best fried kway teow in Singapore. Whether or not the banana leaf highlights the flavor of the kway teow is debatable but this fried kway teow is no doubt very impressive.

Fried Kway Teow is one of Singapore most popular hawker food, and no exception, at old airport road, one of the most famous hawker center in Singapore, there is always a queue at this store. The taste of the clam is not that strong, which is something that i am grateful for. There is a slightly sweet taste, but over-all, it is too oily for my liking. But i guess that all the fried kway teow are like that, it is just that i am not used to it.

Ordered a plate of Fried kway teow with clams. The good thing about this Fried kway teow is that it is well cooked, slight sweet taste, clam are quite fresh, bean sprout are added for a crunchy texture and not very oily. However the bad thing is that Fried kway teow is high in cholesterol but is worth trying once a while.

The waiting time was alright. While I was waiting, many people request not to have clam inside. Anyway, I ordered the kway teow without any changes.

My first bite reminds me of what how exactly kway teow was like when I was young. Pretty memorable. It was slightly sweet, tasty and not too oily.

Upon eating the clam, I regretted. The clam was pretty raw and I gave up eating it. I prefer the clam to be more cooked.

Nevertheless, will still give it a try, but request for no clam.

This stall fried the Kway Teow with lesser oil, it is not that oily. The Uncle who fried it sure knows how to fried it perfectly with the right control of fire and timing. The taste of the Fried Kway Teow is pretty sweet and I kind of like it.

These days, Fried Kway Teow stalls are depleting. Thus, try this stall Fried Kway Teow before it is really "The End of Char Kway Teow".

I had tried their subsidary branch at the expo and this was the first time I tried it at this place. I am not sure if this this the first outlet but I think the taste is greater than the one that I ate at expo. I do not understand why they have to place the banana leaf but it does make it more appealing. Kway Teow was not too oily but it does not taste too dry. The only thing that I do not like was to queue for it especially on a hot day when the hawker can be quite stuffy.

Talk about Char Kway Teow, I am sure most of us will have a preference stall that fried the most tasty kway teow that you always frequent. If you have being to Old Airport Road Food Center, you would have heard about this well-known Char Kway Teow stall known as Lao Fu Zi Char Kway Teow (老夫子炒粿条) located at #01-12. Personally I don’t really find their fried kway teow any usual except it is a bit towards the sweet side with average taste that somehow or rather lack of wok fragrance. But surprising

Personally I don’t really find their fried kway teow any usual except it is a bit towards the sweet side with average taste that somehow or rather lack of wok fragrance. But surprisingly it is always pack with queue during meal hours. So I guess perhaps it might be that extra “Fried Lard” that draws customers’ attention towards this stall.

I love to eat char kway tiao but tend to cut down on the frequency. However, Lao Fu Zi char kway tiao is yummy in the sense that the dish is served on a piece of banana leaf and it;s not as oily. There will always be a queue at the stall so one has to wait at least 20 minutes before one can eat. I love my char kway tiao with cockles, bean sprouts and everything so it's funny to hear people omitting stuff when they order!
