For more reviews, please visit www.umakemehungry.comI remembered craving for Ah Balling Peanut Soup during my childhood days whenever i pass by Golden Mile Food Centre. It used to have the only few traditional flavours, peanuts, black sesame and red bean but now, they have 6 different kinds of fillings including green tea and yam.Given the convenience to grab a packet of ah ballings from the supermarket, I seldom buy them from such stall but it just happened that this stall has its history spoken since 1947 and was one of my childhood spot.Besides that, I can never boiled such grade of peanut soup at home using the preserved canned peanuts. Higher grades of peanuts were used in the soup and were larger in terms of their size with hints of pandan fragrance.Every balls were hand made where the rice balls skin is smooth and chewy.Sweet tasting roasted peanut filling encased in the glutinous rice balls. Semi sweet with fragrant from the sesame seeds used, it was comparatively good! In fact, given a preference, I would like this to the black sesame filling.Do make sure you leave some stomach room after your meal in Golden Mile Food Centre. 繼續閱讀

I love their peanut soup with the tang yuan, they used higher grade peanuts i think, the soup is very fragrant with the tang yuan, the all-time favourite for us. the peanuts are cooked to well done, not easy to cook until so fragrant and with correct level of sweetness, tang yuan size is just good for the peanut soup, taste nice too. will go back eat again , for the price of $1.70, it is cheap and good. 繼續閱讀

I love to eat tang yuan and whenever I am at Beach Road market I will always think of having Ah Balling as dessert after meal! I ordered 4 and mix with Peanut, Sesame and Yam with peanut soup. Not too sweet which is my liking peanut was very soft and love munching it. Tang yuan was very Q and love the oozing out if the peanut and sesame when I bite it for yam it doesn't ooze out but still is very yummy! Goh had their ginger soup and I had a try on it .... to me is a bit too spicy for me still i prefer the peanut soup! 繼續閱讀

Traditional desserts like these are hard to find nowadays so I will always order it whenever I come across a stall selling it. The tang yuan is served with peanuts soup $2. There is a choice of tang yuan, they have different flavlours like peanut, sesame, yam, green tea and red bean. I ordered a mix of all their flavours and it is a delight biting into each tang yuan and tasting five different fillings. The tang yuan is quite normal, but the star had to be the peanuts soup as it is their unique selling oint. The peanuts are soft and it gives a nutty and earthly taste to the soup. The soup is not too sweet so overall, the dessert is very enjoyable. I definitely preferred this than the dessert that my hubby ordered from another stall. 繼續閱讀

I really like the nice mix of filling in tung yuen . Simple and humble bowl. I order the one with the ginger soup although they were selling with the peanut soup. I saw the auntie after washing the peanut took the trouble to remove the brown skin so that it looks better when cooking the peanut in the big pot. $2.00 for a bowl of 5 pieces of tung yuen is cheap even the housing estate you will not be able to find it. 繼續閱讀
