Whenever you go to the food centre at Jurong West Ave 1, you'd never fail to see many tables with green bowls of smooth porridge, plates of steamed chicken and yusheng. I'm also a fan of Soh Kee's chicken porridge and yusheng and I have it usually once a week.Their porridge is smooth and very tasty on it's own. I slurp down bowls and bowls of it even without the chicken or any other dishes .The steamed chicken is smooth and tender, and I really love the sauce and spring onions that come with it! I also love their yusheng which has thin slices of raw fish, crackers and shredded cabbage and carrot. I don't know what kind of sauce they use but it's extremely addictive. Together with the crunch of the shredded veg and crispy crackers, I could keep eating and eating the yusheng 繼續閱讀

Take note this stall does not sell rice but only porridge option. For $18.80, i shared half a chicken and a huge plate of raw fish yu sheng with my parents. The porridge is the more watery non gluey type but the grains have been cooked long so its soft to the the bite. The way i like to consume the food is to dip the chicken into the piping hot porridge then eat it. You can also do likewise to the raw fish. But the raw fish sauce combination is the winner. It has simple ingredients, crispy cracker, carrot floss, ginger, scallion and topped with squeezed lime juice, its a perfect compliment to the porridge. The chicken is not the small kampung ones but big and meaty. Highly recommended. The accompanying chilli sauce is slightly to the spicier side. Few stalls away i think is the sister operating a chicken rice stall but gossip says they are loggerheads.. 繼續閱讀

Soh kee cooked food has been around since my childhood days. Not only did they provide tasty porridge (cantonese style), they do also provide tasty and smooth white chicken which goes extremely well with their watery yet mouthwatering.Reminiscing the younger days when the auntie will automatically provide a small empty bowl on top of my main big steaming hot of chicken porridge. The stall owner himself and his family members have been there operating their business throughout the pass twenty years. Everything they sell are considered good tasty. FoodSoh kee offered their Yu sheng base on the portion. And I had bought the smallest portion to share between myself and pal. Thin sliced pieces of fish added with koropok, spring onions, grated carrot and bright cut red chilli. All in all, the plate of Yu Sheng are very colorful giving an auspicious outlook. The array of condiments had set off a twist on our taste buds. Sweet, sour, and spicy. ServiceThe standard of the food has been well maintained throughout the years and nothing had been compromised, not even quality or portion. I like the way how their teamwork operates which facilitate and make ordering food easier for customer. PriceA reasonable pricing providing sufficient joy and happiness to customer over such a simple local dish. Cost: S $5.00Recommendation / TipsThere will be a price hike during chinese new year on their yu sheng. 繼續閱讀

this is probably the only chicken rice stall in Singapore we know of that only offers porridge only and not rice. But its popularity with diners only serve to emphasize the point that they know their food well. Offering white cut chicken and raw fish as the signature items, diners will usually order a bowl of plain porridge to go with it. The porridge comes in the typical noodle bowl so its quite a mouthful. My preferred style of eating it will be to enhance the flavor of the porridge with the chicken sauce provided. Then i will dip the chicken piece into the porridge to heat it up before eating it. It works really well for me since i've always prefer hot food going into the mouth. One could definitely feel the smoothness of the chicken and the appetizing porridge. You can definitely eat it for any of your 3 meals, not just lunch or dinner. 繼續閱讀

Brought a half sized chicken with the smallest size of the raw fish yu sheng for a 3 person servings. The chicken is very well prepared and cooked, soft and very tender texture, the chicken skin is not oily and also has a soft texture and taste good if eaten together with the chicken meat. Some seasoning sauce is poured over the chicken to enhance the taste of the taste of the chicken. As for the raw fish yu sheng, it reminds me of the chinese traditional yu sheng that we eat during every chinese new year. This plate of yu sheng consists of similar ingredients such as sliced carrot, crackers and the raw fish. The sauce for the yu sheng is light and not too salty, goes well with the ingredients and also the chicken. Not every chicken rice stall sell this yu sheng and I think is a good concept. Price is reasonable and the food taste great. 繼續閱讀
