This was recommended by my friend and so I decided to try it. We had the salted vegetables, stir-fry dou miao, salted egg, stewed duck, minced meat, and 2 bowls of porridge for $17.30. The dou miao was a bit hard to swallow despite chewing many times and it was plain-tasting. The salted vegetables went well with the plain porridge, so did the salted egg. The stewed duck was tender and delicious but the gravy was slightly too salty for me. The minced meat also went well with the porridge because of the contrasting tastes. The taste may not be tastier than what we got from the NEW MOON brand Otah and when compared, taste of Otah was mild.How can teochew porridge goes without the staple braised duck? Meat was sweet and infused with black sauce, supported by a bed of thinly stripes of cucumbers. Not every dishes come in warm temperature and just like that plate of Ladies Fingers, however they are still quite fresh and good to go with a bowl of hot porridge.The same configuration as how ladies fingers was cooked but with a slight tweak as minced pork was added. Though we may see red chilli, it wasnt spicy at all.Another item on the display that will please most home cook dishes lover will be its Cai Po Egg. This is one of my favourite teochew porridge restaurants in Singapore. I like to eat here because the porridge is not those watery type. I preferred those teochew porridge with a lot of rice grains. You can even ask for a bowl of teochew porridge less the rice water. Besides that, I like the varieties and sauces served here.I ordered 7 dishes and I enjoyed each and single dish. It cost me $33, quite worth it considered I ordered promfret, duck meat and the clam today. To get here, alight at Clementi MRT station and walk to the bus stop at exit B. Located on the corner of Bbukit timah, I am not too sure what is the speciality of this Teochew Muay stall other than the fact that it is commonly referred to and known by most as the white porridge with dishes.. Although this place is comparatively pricey, there are some reasons, which perhaps allow them to get away with it. I love eating Teochew porridge whereby the rice of the porridge are whole and grainy. My friend and I ordered 5 dishes and two bowls of porridge. The portion for each dish was alright but the price was a bit steep compared to options like the famous Ye Shang Hai at Bukit Merah. We estimated that the price could be around $$15 - $18 but when the bill comes it was around $20+. Was a bit disappointed when the otah was cold when arrived but the rest of the dishes save the night. Sometimes when i feel like having something light, i will come to here and have their teochew porridge! Despite that the stall is not very accessible through public transport, there is still a lot of people patronizing. The staffs made us feel very welcoming as they will ask us questions how have you been , is the food enough these kind of questions. the array of dishes sitting behind the glass display may look appetizing, but they have in fact been there a while, which explains why most of the dishes never arrive warm.that's the problem with having food "chap chye" style - they give us such a huge variety to choose from that they can't possibly keep replenishing everything, so i guess the fact that the porridge always come warm, with the rice grains just cooked right, and perfectly watery, make up for it. for an "economic rice" sort of place though, i do think the food they offer are way too pricey. the first time i was here with my boyfriend's family, the bill for 5 of us came up to almost $50. this time round, it was just slightly more than $16 for the 2 of us, which means it costs about $8 to $10 per head to have a simple meal here, which is almost triple of what you would pay for a (warm) packet of economic rice at a food court. so why are we back a second time? the fact that their food gives us a cosy feeling in our stomach, because they are just the kind of dishes that your grandma would cook, and the way she would cook it, not just because they are tasty, but because it evokes a homecoming feel, think: chai-poh egg and spicy porky bits.i guess that explains why almost all the tables at the 3/4-filled restaurant were occupied by families on both visits, since most mums never cook anymore - in fact, *my* mum cook only once a year, if i'm lucky. but perhaps it's just a "chinese thing".it is also relatively more comfortable to eat at as compared to the noisy and crowded food court or coffee shop.however, if we were to come at a time when the dishes are just freshly-cooked, i have a feeling it'll be an entirely different, and very tasty, fulfilling meal. so i'm throwing in a benefit of the doubt - i'm coming back for "that feel", well, UNTIL i learn to hold my own in the kitchen that is! …查看更多

this is one of the nicest teochew muay place we have ever had. the food is always piping hot and the service staff never reject our request for extra ah-mmm and braised duck gravy. we always order braised duck, chai poh egg, fish cake, crispy sotong (recently we realised that its $8 for a small plate..priceeeyyyy), two veggies for 4 adults.the place is airy and tables are cleared fast. friendly staff who are nice to kids (never fail to give our kids candies every time) try not to sit near the roadside as endless cars past by, pretty dusty..…查看更多
