Have always been attracted to this place because of its bright neon lights and the giant UGS curtain, its very visible especially driving along tampines road. Its my first time here then i realized this zi char stall is the same owner as the one at punggol plaza koufu. This place is a semi food court style but more of a coffeeshop setting with its non-air conditioned environment. I ordered the $20 red snapper fish steamboat (there is fish head version for $18 only but i'm not a fan) and also a plate of sambal tapioca leaves. The steamboat pot was served with red hot charcoal keeping the pot heated and a based plate with water to facilitate easy candling of this hot item. The soup taste took a while to kick in, as it was constantly cooking due to the charcoal style, the sour plum, ginger, yam and fried fish start to slowly infuse into the soup, leaving a sweet taste. They were generous with the meat serving and service was top notched with the stall people helping us to shift the hot items including those we ordered from other stalls so that we can help ourselves to the food easily without being scald by the hotpot. i like the tapioca leave a lot, not overly cook and not too spicy, also it does not taste too "old". Overall my bill was $27 for 2, good eat, will be back to try the pig trotter which see another table eating, looks good as well. 繼續閱讀
