I have never been to Balestier Hawker Centre. The Hawker Centre is at Whampoa Housing Estate. The Hawker Centre is relatively clean. The store which attracts my eyes is the rojak store. It says 'CEO choice'. When I went nearer, it has pictures of ex prominent characters visited the store. The cost of the rojak starts from $3 onwards. The portion of $3 is only for individual. It has jelly fish which is unique and I have never tried before. It has mango and a fusion of fruit and seafood rojak. It looks more than the eating the 'yu sheng'. The cook uses its special century egg. On the whole, the dish is refreshing. The portion is sufficient.

While flipping through the pages of Singapore Tourist Guide Book from my guest, we spotted a page on Balestier Road Hoover Rojak write up. She had commented that it must be very famous as most of the write up on the book only takes up to about one third of the page. Thus we brought our guest there. As per normal scene, there was a long queue in front of the stall. However with their quick and efficient service, waiting time was fairly reasonable. The biggest portion of rojak was ordered with a century egg add on at a dollar. Red disposable plastic plates were used for the bigger portion while the white original paper plates were meant for the basic portion. Slices of century egg were well camouflaged among the leafy greens and thick dark sauce. The grinded ground nuts were heavily sprinkled onto the plate of "chinese salad" with roasted freshly toasted "You Char Kway" (Fried Fritters) and altogether, giving off an aromatic cum smokey taste. Not only that, we could also enjoy the sweet and tinge of sourness from the pineapples as well as the fine cuts of lime skins. All of us do love and enjoyed loads of it.Cost: $5 (Big)

If Chow Yun Fatt eats here, that's good enough for me. It's the best rojak because they do not stinge on using good ingredients. I like the prawn paste here because it is less salty compared to others, and the yu tiao is fresh and crunchy. You rarely find freshly sliced ginger flowers used for fragrance in rojak anymore. All this all together and you end up with rojak that has plenty of crunch, taste and flavour! One way to get all the yummy goodness is to use the beansprouts to soak and scoop up the last bits of sauce for the best satisfaction.

The FoodI ordered the Whampoa Famous Rojak in addition to my duck rice. Whenever I ordered, they give a lot of rojak sauce. They also have option of adding chilli sauce and is a little spicier than usual. The sauce is one of the best rojak sauces i have tried probably they use the premium prawn paste and multiple tossing of the ingredients. The addition of jellyfish was quite special as other stalls add cuttle fish. The youtiao and taupok all very crispy as they grilled it beforehand and the rest of the ingredients are all very fresh and crunchy. The ServiceAs I went during lunch hours hence need to queue around 30 mins and it was self-serviceThe AmbienceAlthough the stall is in a hawker center, i find that the place was well-ventilatedThe PriceReasonably priced at $3, $4 & $5 per plateOverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this for all rojak lovers !!
