I have never been to Balestier Hawker Centre. The Hawker Centre is at Whampoa Housing Estate. The Hawker Centre is relatively clean. The store which attracts my eyes is the rojak store. The cook uses its special century egg.
On the whole, the dish is refreshing. The portion is sufficient.

The biggest portion of rojak was ordered with a century egg add on at a dollar. Red disposable plastic plates were used for the bigger portion while the white original paper plates were meant for the basic portion. Slices of century egg were well camouflaged among the leafy greens and thick dark sauce.

The grinded ground nuts were heavily sprinkled onto the plate of "chinese salad" with roasted freshly toasted "You Char Kway" (Fried Fritters) and altogether, giving off an aromatic cum smokey taste. Not only that, we could also enjoy the sweet and tinge of sourness from the pineapples as well as the fine cuts of lime skins.

All of us do love and enjoyed loads of it.

Cost: $5 (Big)

I had vividly remember that there was a famous rojak in Whampoa Hawker Centre as from the last round of visit about a decade ago. Ingredients were fresh with crunchy fried fritters (You Tiao), turnip, cucumber, pineapple, beansprouts and a generous amount of peanuts. What overwhelms me is its luscious aplenty of peanut gravy with prawn paste and the small portions jellyfish was found in the Rojak. Sugar crystals were dissolved through the thorough mixing skills by the man. Greens are also added which stands up in the brown and "peanuty" dish.

Fresh buds can be seen on a container placed in front of the stall and the stalls owners are quite opened about the brands of century eggs they were using too.

Since the dish was served in a disposable plate, do remember to put some weight over the empty plates to avoid the strong wind generated from the Hawker Centre's Fans blowing them away & hit on others.

Cost: S$3.00

If Chow Yun Fatt eats here, that's good enough for me. It's the best rojak because they do not stinge on using good ingredients. I like the prawn paste here because it is less salty compared to others, and the yu tiao is fresh and crunchy. You rarely find freshly sliced ginger flowers used for fragrance in rojak anymore. All this all together and you end up with rojak that has plenty of crunch, taste and flavour! One way to get all the yummy goodness is to use the beansprouts to soak and scoop

The youtiao and taupok all very crispy as they grilled it beforehand and the rest of the ingredients are all very fresh and crunchy.

The Service
As I went during lunch hours hence need to queue around 30 mins and it was self-service

The Ambience
Although the stall is in a hawker center, i find that the place was well-ventilated

The Price
Reasonably priced at $3, $4 & $5 per plate

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this for all rojak lovers !!

One portion is never enough. I liked the sauce that was just enough to coat these ingredients. The crispy doughsticks. The crunchy turnip.Sweet and tart pineapples.Random silvers of bean sprouts.People would order $5 portions. And of course more. They usually have a queue at night but this was in the noon and there was a queue but not an obnoxiously long one.

This is one of the oldest stalls in this food centre. Long queue can be anticipated during lunch or weekends. I always ordered the $3 portion whenever i am there. Other than the usual ingredients like the cucumber, turnip, bean sprouts, you tiao and tau pok, they added in the cuttlefish too. All the ingredients are nicely mixed with the good quality prawn paste then topped with grounded peanuts just before served. This is, honestly, an expensive rojak. With $4, I could have had thrice the amount at other stalls. However, the rojak still tastes alright. It's definitely not to die for, but the vegetables used are fresh. The number of you tiaos, you can practically count them....They aren't crispy either. The tau pok was more than the you tiao and at least this was a little crispy.

Attracted by the super long queue, i too go with the crowd. The special ingredient is century egg. My first encounter with rojak and century egg! I find the mixture a tad too weird. You tiao and tao pok both ain't toasted thus it turns soggy quite some time later. All in all, i find this plate of rojak just slightly above average thats all. Nothing too fascinating.

This rojak might not be the number 1 to me but definitely in my top 5 listing. There is always a constant queue during the peak hours and the waiting time might be a little long. Other than the usual ingredients like pineapple, cucumber, turnip, you tiao, tak pok and cuttlefish, they added jellyfish too. This is one of the few stalls still adding jellyfish to their rojak. But, they do not ground their own peanuts so the nicely fragrance is very much lacking. Another pity is they did not grill their you tiao so it tasted a little soggy. The rest of the ingredients were fresh and tasted good with the well-mixed sauce.

No matter, this stall is definitely worth trying. Recommended.

The sauce and the chilli simply makes this rojak stand out from the rest. It's definitely nice and a must try, evident from the long queues everyday.

Queues are often proven right. Upon opening and revealing the packet of rojak, I knew it would taste yummy as the rojak didn’t look just ordinary. Think the credit goes to their secret recipe in the rojak sauce. The sauce was fantastic and there was really something special about it, I could feel a strong taste of mango and apple sauce in the prawn paste, with finely chopped roasted peanuts, sugar and lime juice.

For $4.00 a packet, it was definitely worth trying. The rojak had a good mixture of fried dough fritters, tow pok, cooling cucumbers, bean sprouts, crunchy turnips and pineapples. The pineapples used in this rojak stall were extremely sweet and juicy. It was $4.00 because my mom topped up a dollar for additional ingredients like century egg, otherwise it'd be $3.00 instead.
