I finally made my way to Chilli Padi at Joo Chiat, and it really hit the spot for comforting Peranakan food. The ayam buah keluak was rich and earthy, while the beef rendang was tender and bursting with spices. The atmosphere is cozy and unpretentious, which makes it feel a lot like enjoying a hearty home-cooked meal.
