I finally made my way to Chilli Padi at Joo Chiat, and it really hit the spot for comforting Peranakan food. The ayam buah keluak was rich and earthy, while the beef rendang was tender and bursting with spices. The atmosphere is cozy and unpretentious, which makes it feel a lot like enjoying a hearty home-cooked meal. My cousin has ordere the yummy nonya dishes for his house warming celebration from this famous nonya restaurant. THe dishes look really good and smell delicious! Display was neat and portion was generous. I really enjoyed their stir fried mee siam and barberqued chicken wings. Mee siam was very fragrant and full of the chilli spicies and lime flavour in it, and the mee siam is not soggy and tasty.
