Back to our usual place for zichar again. Yipee!Skipping the Asam Fish head and replaced with the curry fish head this time round. The amount of spiciness is mild, not as spicy as their Asam's. The heat and bubbling curry was seen and maintained while they were served in an earthen claypot. Fish was very fresh and vegetbles like brinja, ladies fingers and tomatos are used. Having Yam ring was another of enjoyment as most of the time this dish will only appear during some wedding dinners. The yam ring were crispy adorn with english Parsely and fried vermicelli topped with seafood and cashew nuts.

Very please that my favourite petai dish had turned out well. The amount of samba used in was consistent, evenly coated on the petai, as well as the prawns. Minced meat and red onions were added as well.

This Zichar place is rather well-liked for its Asam Fish and is also one of the reasons we were there.Prawns roll aka "Heh Chor" was served first. Signature's Toufu was printed and advertised on their banner was delicious. I would say the combinations of platter is perfect. Fried toufu was placed in the middle of plate with belachan chilli topped adorn by adequate portions of Dou Miao that makes the dish looks elegant. Colors combination was attractive enough as toufu was surrounded by a pool of sweet savoury black sauce.

The main dish had finally arrived! Simply love the freshness of the fish accompanied by the sour and spicy Asam sauce! The temperature of food was well maintained as it was placed on a hot plate over the burning fire about 5 minutes till the flame died off.

The not so common dish that was always served at the end of the order was its agar agar. Comes in a plate with toothpicks, I felt that it serves as an "ending" dish that somehow bidding us goodbye and please come again.

Total Cost with 6 plates of rice: S$50.00

Overall, I find it quite value for money considering the portion and items we order. Shared among 5 pax, each of us has to fork out only 10 bucks. Fortunately this was a treat and we were all spared from paying.

Nice presentation of our cutleries. We ordered this vegetable dish which was a special type of vegetable and couldn't be found elsewhere at other zi char stores. I think it is a cross between spring onions and perhaps, spinach as it was crunchy and had the spring onion taste but it also had this spinach taste, thus my funny description. It's really unique but the sauce was a little too salty for my liking. However, I found myself reaching for more. It's still quite enticing nontheless. We also o

I think it is a cross between spring onions and perhaps, spinach as it was crunchy and had the spring onion taste but it also had this spinach taste, thus my funny description. It's really unique but the sauce was a little too salty for my liking. However, I found myself reaching for more. It's still quite enticing nontheless.

We also ordered the soon hock fish.

My family never really like eating the whole fish as we were lazy and didn't want to deal with bones. But this time, it was different as the fish was really fresh! I could still taste the ocean while I was eating! HAHA! It may be a freshwater fish though, I'm not too sure.

Overall, this is a good place to have a mini gathering with your family and friends!
