We came across this stall on a weekend lunch. Noting that there is no queue, we thought there is not much to expect. Since we are craving for some local treats to fill our stomachs, we decided to give this stall a try.The carrot cake is sold in $3,4,5 in both white or black (dark soya sauce) versions. We ordered the black one today.Uncle fried the carrot cake on the spot. From the way he handle the wok, we start to have some raised hope for a nice treat.The owner presented the dish with abundant spring onion garnish. The carrot cake is soft and combined perfectly with the egg. The flavorful dark sauce tasted just right, not too salty, not too sweet.Verdict: Surprisingly delicious.

After hearing so much about Whampoa Makan Place, we finally got to try this hawker center. Since it is our first time here, we did not realise that there is 2 different blocks adjacent to each other. We ended up in the quiet section, which most stalls open later. One of the item we order is this black carrot cake. According to the sign board their carrot cake is homemade. It has a soft texture and cut into small cubes.It is nicely fried with sweet black sauce and sprinkle with chopped spring onions. The taste is not bad but nothing special

A long time stall run by a couple, this stall is one of the nicer carrot cakes I have had in my life. The carrot cake is fried nicely, not hard but yet so soft that it melts with every bite taken. Their carrot cake does not have the over fried crisp feel on the surface, so it’s rather authentic. Spring onions used are always fresh and green.A stall you have to try!
