Although I frequently patronize Marine Parade Food Centre for dinner, I have never eaten Apollo Fried Kway Teow for the past 5 years because I disliked its soggy consistency and its strong garlic odour. Nevertheless this stall continued to enjoy long queues which made me wonder if I have missed something great about this fried kway teow. Hence I decided to try it again today. This time round, I was extremely impressed.

This time round, I was extremely impressed. A plate of fried kway teow which costs $3 is expertly fried to the right consistency and moisture with a distinctive charcoal fragrance. Sprinkled with generous servings of crispy pork lard, the flavorful kway teow is delightfully sweet and savory, every mouthful is simply irresistable. My only dissatisfaction is that there are too few fresh cockles which complement the fried kway teow really well.No longer soggy with the unpleasant garlic odour, Apoll

No longer soggy with the unpleasant garlic odour, Apollo fried kway teow seems to have improved over the years. I have to admit that this is one of the best fried kway teow that I have eaten in Singapore for a long time.

i was craving for some char kway teow so I drove marine parade with a couple of friends to get some delicious char kway teow. The char kway teow at this stall is really good, ever since one of my friend introduced me, every time if I crave for char kway teow, I would drive down here to get it. The kway teow is mixed with yellow noodles then they added some black sweet sauce to fry together. The black sweet sauce made the noodles taste sweet. The cockles they added to the kway teow is very fresh

However one down side is it is a little oily.

the char kway teow here seems to be very authentic as it seems to be the old traditional char kway teow that i had when i came to singapore a long time ago. it is still as oily and lardy. which makes it taste great. it's not too black and there are no burnt bits unlike at other places. it is also not too white like the penang one. it sells out very quickly so have to get there not too late. the cockles are fresh and unlike some places, they are not cold. over all, it is quite good.

the famous char kway teow gets sold out pretty early. it's got loads of lard in it, so i guess that's why it's so tasty. there nice ingredients in it, and it's not too black. nice cockles too. fresh. it's just the lard is so sticky and oily, it gets overly rich and sickening. best to have some lime juice to wash it down. otherwise, it's pretty good. lard just makes everything taste good. the noodles are fried nicely so they do not stick together and there are no burnt bits. not too bad.

The char kway teow here is wet and yummy. The sauce is good for people who like stronger tastes because it is slightly sweeter than average ones. But luckily, the sweetness is kinda neutralised by the saltiness of the other ingredients. I love the fresh cockles as the seafood flavour bursts in the mouth with each bite and blends in very well with the sweetness of the dish. Recommended for people who like it sweet!

Apollo Fresh Cockle Fried Kway Teow is not just any other Fried Kway Teow! It is fried with with alot of juicy cockles! The cockles are fresh too! The good thing about this fried kway teow is that although it is cooked a little more ‘wet’ than others, it is not as oily. It could be their house sauce that provided it with such a texture. Yummy!

This is one of the nicest fried kway teow I have tasted. The kway teow is very smooth and the bean sprouts is still crunchy and juicy. the cockles taste really fresh and the most importantly, the sweet sauce they used to fry the kway teow is really aromatic. I love the way the egg goes together with the kway teow, really tasty!

I really missed the fried kway teow with the clam taste. It has been months since I have been taking fried kway teow without clams since I cannot take raw food now. Even when there wasn't any clams added to the dish, the taste was still as nice. The side ingredients like chinese sausage and egg given were little. Kway Teow was mushy and sweet tasting. Definitely a must try.

Do expect long queues during peak hours, but i think the queue is worthy for a skilled plate of char kway tiao.

The char kuay tiao they serve is not your usual dried char kway tiao.
Usually when you have your char kway tiao, you're most likely to be given only a pair of chopstick.
Over at Apollo, you might be wondering they why do they give you a spoon and chopstick for charkwaytiao. You'll find out the answer after you try it.

The taste of the char kway tiao is slightly on the sweeter side.
It's more WET than your usual CKT with heaps of garlics, scattered dried sausage and cockles.

It's a wonderful masterpiece. One of the best along side hillstreet char kway tiao.

There are a number of Char Kway Teow stalls in Singapore, that some of us would swear by their favourite Char Kway Teow stalls in different parts of Singapore. How different is the Apollo Fresh Cockle Char Kway Teow at Marina Parade special and unique ?

The uniqueness lies in their style of cooking, some other Char Kway Teow stalls are cooked slightly more oily than others, while the Apollo Char Kway Teow is cooked more "wet", whereby you would feel less oily from enjoying them yet the fragrance and taste are not compromised nor lost ! It still retains their richness and flavour ! With the "wetness", that is why the Marine Parade Central stall has big spoons for their customers in case they prefer to use the spoon over the chopsticks !

Another of the Char Kway Teow stalls that I followed loyally for eating over the years, whenever I am back at Marine Parade Central, I would go back to the Char Kway Teow stall, at its same old location and enjoy the wet, tasty and delicious Char Kway Teow !
