Koo Kee is renowned for home-made Yong Tow Foo and specialty dry noodles topped with minced meat. A brand under Gao Ji Food, Koo Kee has satisfied many palates for over 60 years.
My colleague recommended me to Koo Kee when I do not know what to have for my dinner. The set included Kangkong with fermented bean sauce, standard bowl consists of a fish ball and 4 pieces of stuffed items and the star of the meal was the noodle with minced pork. The clear soup was intensely flavourful with hints of soya beans and ikan bilis. There was a lot of MSG in the soup because I was feeling thirsty after finishing the meal due to too much Sodium in the soup and I have to drink more water to balance up myself. The YTF pieces were ordinary, but I liked them vey car the ingredients are fresh.Yummy noodles because this is slightly different from the usual yong tau foo where we get to pick from a variety of ingredients laid out before our eyes. The chili and sweet sauce are good, but not fantastic.…查看更多
Love the yong tau foo here, wish that they give more noodles though, the noddles were deliciously flavourful but I ate all of them in like 4 or 5 spoonfuls? Noodles were springy and nice, the fishball, taufoo etc were pretty god as well. But the noodles were the star. The spinach was quite delicious as well but i prefer to eat them with rice and not noodles. Overall, a good place for lunch.…查看更多
There were many Yong Tau Foo stalls in People's Park Food Centre. One of them was Orignal Koo Kee Yong. I had ordered a set with dry yong tau foo and kang kong. The noodle tasted good, slightly spingy with generous pork lard oil and mince pork. The dry yong tau foo was deep fried with boiled soya beans and savory sauce. The deep fried tofu fillings were a mixture of pork meatand fish paste. There was also pork ball, it was made of the same tofu fillings. Both tasted good with marinated seasoning, the mixed meat was bouncy to bite on.The kang kong had thick fermented bean sauce. The sauce tasted spicy and salty, it went well with the kang kong. …查看更多
The FoodI ordered the standard Yong Tau Foo dry version which come with some minced meat and thin noodles (Mee Kia). The ingredients are standard (Fried Ngoh Hiang, Tau Pok, beancurd) and cannot choose or pick your own ingredients compared to other stalls. The chilli and the sweet sauce are nice and and have the sweet sauce and chilli dispenser outside which you can take how much you want hence is quite unique. As for the soup is very rich and flavourful with soya beans and ikan billis. The Mee Kia is blanched with the right temperature hence is so springy in texture. The PriceReasonably priced at $3.00 onwards for the freshest handmade ingredientsOverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!…查看更多
