- Century egg and pork porridge, $3My born-in-Hong Kong friend specially brought me here to try the porridge. According to her, the porridge here is the closest to the ones she has tasted in Hong Kong. She can tell whether the porridge here was cooked according to the traditional method or the "short-cut" method, where people grind or break the rice first, so that the porridge can be cooked softer in a shorter time. She prefers the traditional way (although it takes much longer), as you can still taste each full grain of rice within the porridge.Haha, she told me to specifically tell the uncle (the chef) the order instead of his wife who will only deliver your order to you and collect the money. Apparently they got into some argument before when orders were mixed up, so now the onus is on the uncle to take orders so he cannot blame his wife if anything goes wrong... The porridge was indeed tasty. I found it to be a tad watery, but the amount of ingredients given was plentiful and the pork liver was cooked till just right. While we were tucking into our meal, a stranger next to us, who was also eating the porridge, commented that the stall owner personally goes to the Chinatown market every morning at 4 am to get his daily fresh produce. 繼續閱讀

The FoodI ordered a bowl of Pork Porridge with an Egg. The Pork Porridge was very tasty and the texture of the porridge was watery and not the thick and gooey type but having said that, the porridge was filled with the essence from the sliced pork, homemade meatballs, liver and eggs. The ingredients are all very fresh, especially the liver which is also not over-cooked and pork. I think it would have been even better if they add fried spring onions and lard to make it more fragrant. As I have been eating quite a lot of unhealthy stuff these days, I thought it would be better if I ate porridge instead of noodles or rice. I ordered a bowl of fish porridge. You can also choose to have the raw fish separate, but I preferred to have the fish in my porridge. I love the porridge here. It is very smooth and not too msg-laden. The fish slices are also tender and there are quite a lot of them within the porridge which makes this bowl of porridge value for money. There is absolutely no fishy taste at all. This delicious and hot piping pork meat porridge is my breakfast today. Tired of eating oily food, this light porridge is one good alternative for my meals. I had everything added into my pork meat porridge, egg and raw slice fish. The raw slice fish is served with a dash of sesame oil and shredded ginger and coriander. I prefer to add the raw slice fish into my hot porridge to let them cook by themselves while boyfriend prefer to eat them raw as it is. The porridge is nice and soft. A bit watery though. 繼續閱讀
