Another day of morning work completed, so we three decided to head to 5 Drunken Rabbits Bistro & Bar, a solitary cafe / restaurant / bar located at none other than Pasir Ris Park itself, having the luxury of occupying the vast expanse of space and sea-breezes.A comfortable bistro for meals in the daytime, 5 Drunken Rabbits is the perfect place for drinks and chilling out by night, where the waves sing in the stark silence. Whether one choose to sit indoors or outdoors, you would be treated to great views - sea or lush greenery - you have the say.We started with Luncheon Fries (SGD$8.00), also known as "spam fries" to most of you - literally luncheon meat cut into sticks and deep-fried so that it is crispy in texture. I appreciated the fact that the luncheon fries here were not too salty - the savoury flavour was delightful and easy on the palate. As for the Carbonara (SGD$14.80) with bacon, mushroom, eggyolk and shaved parmesan - springy strands were well-soaked with the creamy smooth gravy redolent of mushroom taste. It was not the best, but a hearty dish best consumed hot / warm. Finally, Baby Back Ribs (SGD$20.80) served with seasonal greens, baked potato and cherry tomatoes. The feedback was that the rack of ribs was well-marinated with a distinctive sweetness to it, with juicy and tender flesh. For full review and more detailed information, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2015/11/lunch-at-5-drunken-rabbits-bistro-bar.html

I have tried their food on previous visits and they were fine, but this time, I was disappointed with this particular main dish. I had the honey and soy pork rack, which costs about $23, and it came with garlic, honey and soy sauce, served with greens and small bits of potatoes. Nothing to complain about for the sauce, but the pork itself was so tough it felt like I was chewing rubber. I had a hard time cutting and chewing the pork. Avoid this dish at all costs.

tip: nearest carpark is carpark D. From the carpark you can see the side of the pup with neon lights but not too obvious i must say, most people who drive along Pasir Ris road will not see it as its behind the bicycle kiosk which is closed at night. This joint replaces the former JuzEat Restaurant. Anyway i asked the waiter about the story behind the restaurant/pub name, was told the bosses used to hang out as a group of 5 and love drinking thus decided to call it 5 drunken rabbits. Anyway it has both indoor aircon and alfresco dining area, the LCD tv screening bpl are for the outdoor dining folks. I actually prefer the outdoor seating ambiance and setting, with the candlelight and ratten furniture. The branding by the way is more clearly seen at the toilet area with wall pictures rabbit themed. Anyway for food we ordered seafood squid ink linguine $19.80, salmon fillet with char grill chicken $34.80 and Belgian waffle $7.80 fr dessert. Total bill was $73.45. Was a little disappointed with the squid ink pasta as its was a little dry and felt the pasta was a little overcooked. The seafood did not taste fresh also, but not to the extend that it was bad though . The salmon and chicken on the other hand is slightly better with mashed potato provided as sides. The Belgian wafer serving was a little small as well, definitely not enough to please. But i would say the nice setting does makes up for it. If only it was a bit nearer to the beach . Anyway i think the service staff all needs a bit of training, they felt a little raw...more training will definitely help.
