We happened to be walking by this place evening and saw that it was pretty populated so I thought I would give it a shot for evening...Order Teh Si & Bo Lo Bao that was golden brown. Sadly, there was something missing, the lack of a signature taste in the kaya, the whole thing was not bad but failed to cast its mark on my memory. One thing about the place is that they serve quite nice Teh Si, which was thick and evenly flavoured. 繼續閱讀

Date : 20121228 Time of visit : 10.50pm What/Where : Ah Mei @ Rail MallWhat we had : Plain Prata, Egg Prata, Kaya Butter Toast SetAverage cost/pax : $11.40 Ambience : Untidy, noisy, wet booth seats from leaking aircon Service : Friendly but slow ( waited 15mins for the toast )Portion : Prata was chewy, cooked unevenly. Soft boiled egg is slightly overcooked Location : Rail Mall along upper bukit timah road, abit hard to excess as the MRT is not up yet and very limited parking; there's pubs, coffee joint and a 24hr eatery here so it's good for supper meetups. What's good in particular : Kaya Toast was crispy and sweet. What's bad in particular : n/aABiteOfEverything.com 繼續閱讀

I ordered two plain pratas for supper which cost $2 and it came with a small plate of curry, but my order came rather late as the chef had went to the washroom. The prata was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and it is rather big in size, however the curry wasnt so appealing and aromatic. The environment was not so clean but it has a cosy feeling. 繼續閱讀

I actually enjoyed this outlet of the Ah Mui Cafe because it's away from the hustle and bustle in Singapore. Located at the Rail Mall, it's a nice place to eat your food and drink your coffee without being disturbed. Seats are usually abundant there since there are no major shopping centers there, and the milk tea is quite good at the usual rate you pay at your local coffee shop. I guess the plus point is that it's quite quiet, and that you can watch your Roti Prata man play with the roti prata. 繼續閱讀

A place where myself and beloved bf have our frequent dinners and where many2 conversations, inner thoughts and future plans are pleasurely discussed between us. The absolute reason we dine here always is due to my bf super love and indulgence on their wanton mee be it dry or soup or….. maybe to the stall auntie that always painstakingly takes his order. Hmmmmm….lol! For me, as the place is less accessible and it equates to less people, and most importantly as pledged by my bf  me being an anti-social, this will be the perfect place to have our dinners by ourselves having long conversations uninterrupted! Minus the occasional times where the aunties who will clear our plates and wipe our tables diligently… Most of the menus have been tried and tested by us:Roti prata (be it plain, with egg or with cheese) –Super fluffy prata which are always made fresh for you on de spot, with super spicy curry on the side. The curry has always been consistent never too watery,so its just nice for you to dip your prata pieces in. Avoid coming on Sundays for the prata though, its super crowded!Wanton Mee –For me, it’s the taste is relatively standard. Still trying to figure why de bf has it for dinner without fail each time we dine there…haizzzzzz…Next pls…Chicken Rice – No specialty. Nothin’ much to comment about. Nevertheless, its good.Chicken Porridge – Any day of the week when I have the porridge, its consistent. My favourite part would be if you do not want shredded chicken, you can always tell them to change to roasted chicken or char siew chicken. There you go…. Try it for yourselves… 繼續閱讀
