Huge and very very fresh prawns accompanying the laksa. Flavor wised is not as fantastic as Katong Laksa but it has got good quality as well! The soup based is not very spicy so for people who can't take spiciness, this is a good try on Singapore Laksa! However, it is very over-priced as this is a tourist attraction.

Open concept filled with wide-eyed wonder, Ah Meng Restaurant was named exactly same with the well-known late Orang Utan. Displaying some photos on the wall, it briefly explained how Orang Utan lives in Zoo. There was air-conditioned area and also alfresco seats. Staffs in wildlife hunter cloth, they were accommodating.Drumstick was huge, stretchable tender flesh. Sambal was appealing spicy, much complemented the Pandan greenly rice. Side snack included roasted peanuts, crunchy salted ikan bilis and refreshing cucumber. Besides of local delight, they were also selling some western cuisines. Memorable visit but it was quite noisy and crowded.

Have not been the Singapore Zoo for a long time. Since its a beautiful day, I decided to go there with love. There were quite a few changes compared to my last visit. It was around 1pm and our stomach were growling. We chose local delights over fast food so we settled at Ah Meng Restaurant. I ordered a Nasi Lemak with Baked Chicken, hoping that it will taste great simply because these foods represents Singapore and the Singapore Zoo is a tourist attraction. But... ... i was very disappointed the baked chicken was cold and tasteless, the rice is not fragant at all and the sambal is not nice either. There is nothing to recommend about. As a Singaporean, i am really ashamed to introduce theses local delights to tourist.

I love Ah Meng Restaurant's Lemon Tea is always so refreshing having it when is a hot hot day in Zoo! I ordered Laksa ($7.90), Goh had their chee cheong fun ($1.50) while baby want a butter sugar toast ($2.10) Laksa look so good and taste good too the power coconut milk was so thick and the spicy level was just nice. Prawn were fresh! CCF was quite decent better than i expect cos sometimes it will be like rubber band texture! Butter sugar toast was good too crispy after the toast! Lemon Tea standard i feel drop abit but still as good big mug at only ($3.50) and Goh had Yuan Yang ($3.50) and commented it was not so nice as compare to others outside not much of a taste!

this promises a bamboo steamer of variety.not quality.the crystal prawn dumplings have a skin that sticks to the steamer and breaks too easily. although it's thick.the shao mai was forgettable.as was the other thing that tasted like soon kueh with turnip filling.then you think the saving grace would be the bao!but we were sorely disappointed. the skin was too thick and the filling too little.oh dear. oh oh dear.
