So I popped into Akami Dining at Somerset not too long ago, and it was a pretty chill experience. The vibe there is super relaxed and comfy, perfect for just kicking back and enjoying some Japanese eats. I went for their dinner omakase, and honestly, everything was fresh and looked really nice. The taste was balanced, nothing too heavy or overwhelming. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but for good quality and a laid-back atmosphere, I think it’s worth it. If you’re near Orchard and want some solid Japanese food without fuss, this place is worth a shot.

We visited Akami for a Saturday dinner with two adults and one child, ordering two omakase sets plus a few à la carte dishes. Each course was beautifully presented with meticulous attention to detail, and the food quality was exceptional. The pacing of the omakase was just right, letting us savor every dish without feeling rushed. Overall, the experience was delightful and satisfying. We’re already excited to return and try their seasonal omakase as well as explore more from their extensive à la carte menu. Highly recommended!

Akami at Somerset serves some of the freshest sashimi around. The tuna rice bowl was beautifully presented with high-quality cuts that melted in my mouth. Their salmon aburi was lightly torched with a perfect smoky finish. The cozy setting makes it a great spot for a casual Japanese meal with friends or solo dining.

Went down to Akami the other day with a friend, tried out their mentaiko and the taste of it still lingers in my mouth till today... Price is still ok for me but depends on what you order, the service was not bad was being served by a young and friendly lady!
