Edamame - $4This was served to us when we were waiting for our food to be served. Actually I tot it was free, you know, like tibits for you to kill time while waiting for the food. Had my dinner with my family members in this Japanese restaurant, which is also one of my mother's favourite restaurant. Is very cosy inside the restaurant and quite spacious too. Thanks to my boss to have invited my fellow colleagues and I to this high class Japanese restaurant in Orchard Parade Hotel. The restaurant looks really lovely and comfortable furnishings. THe service here was really friendly and warm. My boss has ordered for us everyone the same set meal. The maki was really crunchy inside and the Japanese rice was very fragrant and not soggy. Akashi is definitely one of the more expensive Japanese options in town, but the food is pretty good. We came here for dinner one night and had some sashimi each. We had salmon, clams, toro, swordfish among other types of sashimi. Sashimi came up to about 100 dollars per person, but it was very fresh and delicious, each slice was thick and chewy and had good bite to it with no fishy taste.

Akashi is a place that offered relatively high-end sort of Japanese food. The setting and ambience is casual but the food prices are hardly so. The sets may not seemed to cost very much at $20 - 30 per set, but the portions are small that you can't get full with one of those sets. Whenever I have shopping trip at Orchard road, I will usually drop by this japanese restaurant to have my favourite beef steak set. The beef steak may not have big portion,but the meat texture is very juicy and tender. Moreover, I also enjoy having the generous portion of crunchy cabbages that served along with the beef steak. The miso soup is quite alright but to me is abit too salty.
