Saw posters of Ashtons Specialties opening a new outlet at the newly renovated Safra Toa Payoh. Some friends recommended it for casual dining, hence decided to go there for dinner. Once I laid steps into the restaurant, it has got a very earthy or woody feel and it is very roomy. We ordered a black pepper chicken, prime sirloin and some drinks. I haven't been to Safra Toa Payoh for a long time. If not for a friend's birthday gathering, i won't know it has gone through a renovation! Not too bad i must say. I wasn't craving for a heavy meal so fish was my best choice! Have been craving for Aston's for a looooongggggg time and randomly decided to Google for the nearest branch of Aston's Specialties hahahah. (Weather has been horrible nowadays and I wanted to dine without my face and skin feeling like a sticker book lolol) Was so pleasantly amazed and surprised to find a branch that's a 5 mins bus ride away from my home Tried their black pepper steak for the first time and it was actually not bad for the price! Got mine medium done, with two sides of garden veggies cos I was feeling healthy that day hahahaha. Thumbs up for the steak includes the fact that it didn't have too much fatty parts which I absolutely hate when I'm eating steak. Was feeling thrifty so I tried this instead of the tenderloin which my friend recommended but no regrets still :) Bf had the fried chicken which is just breaded fried chicken, with sides of pasta salad and wedges. Haha chicken was awesome as usual (i had a tiny bite hehe). Aston's never fails to disappoint :) Still remains my favourite relatively lower-end western food place.
