Chee Cheong Fun

I just want to find good Chee Cheong Fun in the early morning of Sunday and I searched and searched and found this one.  V comfy decoration and with air-con, it serves Ipoh Chee Cheong Fun, pastries, Nasi Lemak etc.  Chee Cheong Fun is very good.  Unlike Cantonese ones it's slightly less chewy but softer, and dipped with its special sauce as I ordered Anson's special Cher Cheong Fun.  It served with picked pepper and it made the taste with more variety with a good mix of its crispness.  The curry pig skin is rare in other places and the dry curry sauce on it makes the taste very exciting,   We also tried the kaya puff. Really appreciate that it's served warm and its pastry is well made, light and crispy but not oily not greasy.  Kaya is sweet but not exceedingly sweet.Nasi Lemak is awesome.  The sauce is complicated but not too thick.  Light but with good after taste in your cavity.  Very aromatic coconut rice.  Crispy but juicy and meaty chicken wing,  Peanuts and fish served are very crispy as well.  All things mixed really well which you could not miss. That's why it stood for 70 years! 繼續閱讀

We decided to takeaway as it was raining very heavily and difficult to get parking.Telok Anson is famous for Heong Piah (Fragrant Biscuit) and Chee Cheong Fun. Both are available here. The Anson Special is Chee Cheong Fun sprinkled with preserved turnip. The rice roll is very smooth and the sweet salty taste of the turnip goes very well it, It is a Must try item. The other recommended items is the Ipoh Hor Fun . It comes in gravy, soup and dry version. My Parents and Sis ordered the gravy version. They all agreed it is very tasty and not gluey. The thin silky rice noodle and gravy was packed separately. It has slices of chicken, prawn, char siew and fish cake. The steam Yam Cake has a nice texture with pieces of yam. It would have been better if there is more toppings. The choice for Yong Tau Foo is limited but it has some unusual items. I like the long bean twisted into a flower and top with fish paste. The other is the fish paste sandwiched between slices of radish. They are thoughtful to pack the boiled and fried items separately.I tried the Fried Mee with Char Siew .it is yellow noodle mixed with black soya sauce and topped with Char Siew. Nothing fantastic.Must try the Salted Egg Meat Ball at $2.80 each. It is meat wrapped around salt egg. Then wrapped in bean curd skin before deep frying. The Soy Milk at $1 is very thick and milky. 繼續閱讀
