I love Antoinette for the ambience, despite occasional bad service experience from other branches. Was in Lavender area to meet up with my hubby for late breakfast with assorted bread/danish. All my friends love Antoinette for the ambience, which is good for tea time as it wasn't crowded at all, but I haven't tried their main courses so far. My friend had their strawberry shortcake which I have tried before and didn't really find anything special about it except for the huge chunks of strawberries buried within. I had the Le Royale, which has I think hazelnut, almond, chocolate and dark rum. It was not bad, but I would still prefer the Antoinette cake for its exquisite taste.

I was at Antoinette for tea time and decided to try Chloe - this cute little dome-shaped cake topped with a flower icing. The cake had yuzu cream, and itself was a white chocolate vanilla mousse with light sponge cake. The base was cookie-like, an almond sable, which enhanced the taste with every mouthful. The cake was not too sweet, and the yuzu taste distinct. Would recommend it.

The pancakes here really surprised me because they are SO GOOD! The winning ingredient is the clotted cream! There are spots of vanilla beans in the cream and it tastes heavenly with the pancakes! The maple syrup is also good (ask for more!). This is the blueberry pancakes and instead of some compote, the blueberry is already mixed in the pancake batter. Super good and I would come back for more!

It may come as a surprise to most that I would pick to eat the savory dishes at a place like Antoinette where the sweets are more well known. I saw the Pork Belly with spinach on the menu and couldn't resist. I have to say, it was not bad! The pork belly was cooked very well and it was tender with the right amount of lean meat and fat. Drizzled with some mushroom sauce and paired with spinach, I enjoyed this meal very much! Didn't get to try their desserts but next time!

Had a nice dinner gathering with my fellow ex-classmates in this posh restaurant. The restaurant is spacious and not too bright lightings are used here. Service was excellent and very prompt. It is located somewhere away from the bustling bugis area, and it wasn't crowded at all during tea time, which made it a nice spot to enjoy an afternoon tea.
