It was a Sunday lunch at Aston's. My friends and i were early so there was no queue at all and we managed to get comfortable seats in the restaurant. I ordered chicken chop with bbq sauce as my topping together with onion rings and coleslaw. The piece of chicken that was served was quite small compared to other outlets I have eaten at. I had always been impressed with the dishes served by Astons. And since my friend and i were watching movie at the cathey, we actually had our meal there as well. I ordered the chargrill chicken with mashed potatoes and french fries as side dishes. The price is actually reasonable too.:) The outside of the chicken is slightly burnt which gives it the crisp feeling, however, i do find that the inside of the chicken can e a little bit too dry. We were kept waiting for over a half and a half. We had a large group (6 people) and preferred not to be seated outdoors, so a longer wait was certainly understandable. What was not understandable was the way the restaurant handled it. The restaurant offered us an outdoors seating about an hour plus into our wait, but we turned it down because we figured that there will probably be a table of 6 available soon since it has already been over an hour. Aston offers a western type of menu, with lots of varieties. You can select a main, and choose the sides. There are many different types to choose from. It was an after work gathering with my two besties. We went to Astons at Dhoby Ghaut The Cathay to have our dinner! I love Astons for its big portion and value for money prices. They started the trend of having one main dish and two sides to go along with. Many places now are copying their style. For Astons, you must go early to queue. Any later and you'll have to wait quite awhile. We got there close to 7pm and there's already a queue :( We waited like 20mins plus to get seated! However the plus point is that the staff will take your order first when you're close to being seated. I think it save us some time of waiting for the food to be served That day i had the chicken cutlet with veggie and potato salad :) I love the potato salad there, it's moist and not too sour or dry like they served in some places. However since its quite a big portion, i couldn't really finish the chicken cutlet towards the end. Turn out i scrap off the skin before being able to finish. I think it could be too greasy and dry at that point. I would say to have the grilled chicken next time, it may not be too oily and dry.…查看更多

Aston always make me feel full and want to go again.. The chicken chop is tender and nice. The meat is flavourful and i like the mushroom sauce on it. This time,i ordered the french fries and the potatosald as sides. The potato salad is nice,a bit sour and cold. Nice as everytime i eat. I find Astons to be a place that serves up cheap and good Western food, a rare find in town. Mostly i enjoy their steaks, especially when it is topped with mushroom sauce - a must try. Steaks come with side dishes such as fries or salad. I chose the corn on the cob and mashed potato. The corn on the cob was unremarkable, a little too raw for my liking. I particularly liked the potato salad which is one of the best i have tasted thus far. Service could have been improved, it was slow despite the long queues outside.…查看更多

Astons has cheap and fairly decent steak - for the price you are paying. Every set meal comes with 2 sides of your choice from the list of either the cold or hot side dishes. They have quite a wide variety of sides to pick from but so far my favourite has always been the onion rings. I also had the mashed potatoes this time round and they are not bad as well, but very filling. The steak comes in a sizable portion with a generous topping of sauce. I go to fitness first which is next to Aston and i can tell u the queue is always freaking loooooooong!!!!!!!! Especially at night.. my god i think u might have to prepare to wait for like 1 hr or smt.. the place is always teeming with students, i think becoz its really cheap and affordable..I remember the first time i tried here was a chicken chop which i didnt really like because i love chicken breast and they were not serving that and i find the meat quite thin n full of fat. (I much prefer Botak jone's chicken). My bf and I had passed by Aston on sunday afternoon n was pleasantly surprised theres no queue and we were hungry enough so we ate there.. I had the herb fish.. its surprisingly yummy!! And while i didnt expect the sauce to be creamy it was not too strong at all and i find the sides of garden veg and onion rings make a very good portion.. My bf was quite satisfied with the beef as well and have found the price very good for the quality.. He loved the mashed potatoes and salad too.. Oh btw they have 2 new sides.. wedges and mac & cheese (think kenny rogers ). Haven tried that yet but saw the others eating it looked pretty yummy. I first visited Astons thanks to my gf and have been a frequent customer since then. The queue at their Cathay outlet is probably the longest and slowest one. If you have a growling stomach, do opt for other restaurants around cause the wait can take up to 45 minutes in extremely peak periods. Plus.. when you're hungry, each minute can feel like 1 hour >_< . however the food is nice, it is worth the waiting time, the food is served fast once you got the seat. I ordered a chicken chop with peppery sauce, with coleslaw and spicy fries as my two complementary side-dishes. The service was prompt and commendable and I was served within 15 minutes after placing my order. Even before I sink my teeth into the mouthwatering steak, I was already impressed by the generous portions of coleslaw and spicy fries. The delicious coleslaw was flavorful with well-blended sweetness and subtle sourness. Few days ago. Me and my friends had a birthday to celebrate amongst our friends around the Ghouby Ghaut area. We chose Aston as it wasthe most popular choice amongst us. The food did not disappoint us. I ordered Chargrill chicken for $7.90 and to my surprise, there was no GST charged.The chicken was tender and the side dishes were great! Over at The Cathay at Handy Road, moviegoers would sometimes complain about the lack of eateries at the Cineplex. Therefore, the constant long queue at AstonsI had a Grill Fish with Herbs with Coleslaw and Baked Potato. The fish was rather fresh, and lightly grilled. One plus point is there isn’t a strong fishy smell. The Black Pepper Chicken was standard ‘Western food’ fare, but the huge portion and sides of Onion Rings and Garden Veggie make it value for money. In fact, the total bill of 3 of us just above $20. For every main course, you can also select 2 side dishes to go along with it and their side dishes are always in a generous portion!
