Ordered Grilled Fish with Herbs as well as French fries and potato wedges as side dishes. The waiting time was acceptable. Took about 15 min on a weekday afternoon. The fries and wedges were crispy and tasty. However, I felt that the sauce for the grilled fish was a little too creamy and overshadowed the taste of the herbs.The restaurant was not too crowded and ambience was casual. Service was good. Came to Astons as I am craving for nice western food but yet I am on a tight budget!This time round I have tried something new instead of ordering the usual black pepper chicken. I have ordered hickory chicken with garden veggie and onion rings and it only cost me $8.90nett. no service charge and gst. That’s what I like most of Astons! And the chicken was good. Astons sells one of the cheaper and value for money western food. I had the chargrilled chicken with baked potato and garden veggie. The chargrilled chicken was cooked well, it smelled very good and tasted very delicious. It was tender and juicy and the cook didn't overcook it. The sauce on the chicken complements it very well, made it even yummier. I felt the baked potato was not awesome though. Although the butter which gave it a good smell, there was too much of it which made it a little oily and buttery. The garden veggie was okay too, it wasn't boiled for too long hence the carrots were still raw and hard. Good for those who prefer more natural veggies. This Astons outlet is nice and cosy, but usually crowded because the food this place sells is affordable and tastes great! The staff are generally very friendly and helpful despite the crowd.We ordered the Double Chicken and Fish and chips and IBC Root Beer. The Fish was very crispy and the portion was generous! I really wished there were more fries because it was so addictive and crispy too! Coleslaw was refreshing to eat after all the savoury dishes. The Double Chicken was a little too burnt for my liking but the meat within is tender, and the black pepper and teriyaki sauce just made it taste more satisfying. :) second visit to this place.This time round smart to come early before dinner time.HaHa... no people in the Q. But there pepole inside.Still able to get seated fast.This time I order the Honey BBQ Chicken with side order of mashed potato and onion ring.As there was not much crowd, my food came fast. Within 10min. Wah.. the chicken came was big to almost fill the plate.One cut across the chicken, you can see the stream coming out.... the meat tender, cook with tender...hee...The mashed potato is fine plus the onion ring is normal but not much of the onion ring given.Guess need to order some side order for it.Overall ; will come back for more of their meal.Maybe will go for other outlet to see their cooking and service.Cheer.............. :) :) :) …查看更多
