Grilled Fish with Herbs

Ordered Grilled Fish with Herbs as well as French fries and potato wedges as side dishes. The waiting time was acceptable. Took about 15 min on a weekday afternoon. The fries and wedges were crispy and tasty. However, I felt that the sauce for the grilled fish was a little too creamy and overshadowed the taste of the herbs.The restaurant was not too crowded and ambience was casual. Service was good. Overall, food was average and rather pricey.

Came to Astons as I am craving for nice western food but yet I am on a tight budget!This time round I have tried something new instead of ordering the usual black pepper chicken. I have ordered hickory chicken with garden veggie and onion rings and it only cost me $8.90nett. no service charge and gst. That’s what I like most of Astons! And the chicken was good. Very tender and the sauce were rich and thick. Garden veggie was quite normal and the onion rings skin were really crispy.Still loving t

Astons sells one of the cheaper and value for money western food. I had the chargrilled chicken with baked potato and garden veggie. The chargrilled chicken was cooked well, it smelled very good and tasted very delicious. It was tender and juicy and the cook didn't overcook it. The sauce on the chicken complements it very well, made it even yummier. I felt the baked potato was not awesome though. Although the butter which gave it a good smell, there was too much of it which made it a little oily

The garden veggie was okay too, it wasn't boiled for too long hence the carrots were still raw and hard. Good for those who prefer more natural veggies. Would choose other side dishes the next time!

Aston is my all time favorite when comes to cheap and yummy western food Decided to head to aston when i was at katong the other day. Finally tried something new ( as i always order black pepper chicken).I had chicken cutlet with fries and baked potato as sides. I love the baked potato! it will be even better if they have bacon bits on it. Chicken cutlet is very deeply fried, taste a bit too oily to my liking but the skin and meat is good! crispy and tender.  Finally tried something new ( as i always order black pepper chicken).
I had chicken cutlet with fries and baked potato as sides. I love the baked potato! it will be even better if they have bacon bits on it. Chicken cutlet is very deeply fried, taste a bit too oily to my liking but the skin and meat is good! crispy and tender.

Will be back next time to try out more dishes since it is so afforable!

This Astons outlet is nice and cosy, but usually crowded because the food this place sells is affordable and tastes great! The staff are generally very friendly and helpful despite the crowd.We ordered the Double Chicken and Fish and chips and IBC Root Beer. The Fish was very crispy and the portion was generous! We ordered the Double Chicken and Fish and chips and IBC Root Beer. The Fish was very crispy and the portion was generous! I really wished there were more fries because it was so addictive and crispy too! Coleslaw was refreshing to eat after all the savoury dishes.
The Double Chicken was a little too burnt for my liking but the meat within is tender, and the black pepper and teriyaki sauce just made it taste more satisfying. Onion rings were crispy and fragrant.

Aston’s is easily one of my favourite places whenever I’m at Katong I12, and this time I ordered Black Pepper Chicken with Mac&cheese and salad. Despite lots of people and noisy ambience, somehow I’m thankful for the efficient service where the staff gets the food delivered as fast as they can and for the people who eat and leave (to have dessert elsewhere less crowded) considerately to make room for others. Despite lots of people and noisy ambience, somehow I’m thankful for the efficient service where the staff gets the food delivered as fast as they can and for the people who eat and leave (to have dessert elsewhere less crowded) considerately to make room for others. The chicken, consistent as always , is tender and charred at the right bits and not meant to be eaten as is (unless you like it “plain-chicken taste”), should be accompanied by the sauce you opt for. The mac’n’cheese was nice but I kinda regretted because their fries in my opinion is still better. Broccoli and baby carrots was well cooked.

second visit to this place.This time round smart to come early before dinner time.HaHa... no people in the Q. But there pepole inside.Still able to get seated fast.This time I order the Honey BBQ Chicken with side order of mashed potato and onion ring.As there was not much crowd, my food came fast. Within 10min. Wah.. the chicken came was big to almost fill the plate.One cut across the chicken, you can see the stream coming out.... the meat tender, cook with tender...hee...The mashed potato

Surpise to see the shop is at some pre-war shop houses.
Reach the place and we notice Q start to form before 12pm.
Lucky for us, we got seated fast.
Heard that they are good in the prime steak but decided to choose the Black Pepper Chicken instead.
My side order, Coleslaw and Tasty Rice.
Waiting time for our food was long, 20min.

My food came hot. the server never ask if the black pepper sauce on the chicken is enough or not. But I ask for some extra sauce, and she happyly gave me.
Heard their pepper sauce is thick. And itz really is.

Now I try the chicken
tender meat, piping hot. GOOD .....
Their Colelaw ..... hmm.... nothing special ... ok for me.
Cost of meal $7.90 ...
Overall : Will come back for more ...

We went to Astons Specialities located in Joo Chiat for dinner. I ordered my usual favourite of chicken chop topped with lemon sauce and two sides of garden salads. It makes a healthy choice as salad are light to the stomach. The salad is fresh and crispy and the chicken meat is tender. I enjoyed the overall taste of the meal. The service staff were efficient in taking our orders and serving our food.

Astons - the popular restaurant

This restaurant is so popular that you will definitely need to queue if you visit the restaurant during either lunch or dinner time. Main reason for the popularity: Delicious food that is value for money. One can get a meat (either fish or chicken) with 2 side dishes at less than $10. Furthermore, this restaurant does not imposed a 10% service charges.Despite the restaurant being very crowded, the food was served quite promptly (approximately 5-10mins wait).Hence, I would recommend one to visit

Hmm...what do i think about Astons?

Besides the long queue every other weekend, I kind of love dining at Astons due to the fact that they have grilled meats of decent prices! I am quite a fan of their Grilled Fish and Black Pepper Chicken. Not the most awesome tasting western ever, but definitely above average.

Went over alone this time :/Didnt know what to order...So... Decided on something totally not me... Got the sampler thingy that they had for sausages cause i wasnt that hungry and my usual ice lemon tea...By the time the food came, i was pretty irritated as it took a really long time...But at the same time, i got a shock at the amount of food on the plate...The sausage may look lyk they cant match the usual crispy fried chicken and stuffs but LEMME TELL U~ it was more den just filling... i could

U can never go wrong with this order~ I love ordering this as i can make my own varieties like, adding BBQ sauce, Black Pepper, etc etc~ Or... u can eat it original too ;)HOWEVER~ One thing to note!!!Astons always have a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG QUEUE ANNNNNNDThey serve the food really SLOOOWLY~So, it's not a good idea to go there when u are really starving >_<My favorite sides are their fries, baked potatoes, corn on cob.If u order the corn, be prepared to find a glam way to eat it~

So, it's not a good idea to go there when u are really starving >_<

My favorite sides are their fries, baked potatoes, corn on cob.

If u order the corn, be prepared to find a glam way to eat it~

Would you accept or reject this piece of beef?

I was served this piece of beef that claimed to be a piece of steak in my last visit. I was in the rush then so i accepted this piece of beef. But still, the existence of their quality control is still in doubt. I understand they cut the beef to check its doneness but i doubt this is the right way to be done. Does this look like a piece of steak to you? How would you response if you were served this? Would you accept or reject it? I have chosen the pasta salad and potato salad as my side dishes.

I have chosen the pasta salad and potato salad as my side dishes. The potato salad was good but they overcooked the pasta. The taste of the beef was alright though.

The waiting time was a little too long. We waited for 30 minutes for our foods to be served. But, still this is a place for economy western foods but their standard can be quite inconsistent at times.

If you like beef or western food, you might want to try Astons as their food items are priced very reasonably. What's best is that the main course will include two sides and you can choose from a number of them, ranging from mashed potato to coleslaw. The portion was very generous too, at this outlet. I have tried other outlets but this outlet is the best.The beef steak that I had was very well cooked. I had it medium rare and it was not overcooked. Steak was tender and the portion was big. You
