I was walking around Marina Bay Sands the other day, and decided to try Au Chocolat out since I wanted to munch on something. Best decision ever!I see people having their dinner at the Au Chocolat restaurant area, but was too full for another round of meal despite how tempting it looked. Went to the Confiserie area since their desserts were luring me in...Asked for the best-seller, and was recommended this! It's the Kalamansi Meringue Tart!Although it was pretty expensive at $7 for a small little tart, the taste made it worth the price. It was a local riff of the lemon meringue pie. It tasted like ice cream tart for some reason, but trust me when I say it's really good though it was hard!I loved the balance of sour and sweet flavours. Will go back for it again! Truffle fries S$15.00 – I am a sucker for truffle fries and when they came in the form of paper wraps, I’M SOLD! I swear every table ordered at least one truffle fries for the whole of Au Chocolat was filled with the truffle scent. YUMMY!Pineapple Pleasure S$12.00 – very interesting, tangy and invigorating! This concoction is a mixture of white chocolate and pineapples!Banana Boost S$12.00 – Rich and creamy and I never knew white chocolate and banana blends in so nicely. Decided to eat dinner at Au Chocolat again cos I was craving for their Frozen Hot Chocolate drink...During my previous visit, my Frozen Hot Chocolate drink $12++, although tasted good, was not very well prepared...the serving portion and presentation was not as good as my friend's one served on a weekday. Today, they redeemed themselves and gave me a huge portion...the huge pile of whipped cream was almost overflowing at the edge! Needless to say, my craving was satisfied.Hubby ordered the other signature drink Pineapple Pleasure $12++, a concoction of pineapple juice and white chocolate. He said it was not bad.We ordered the Mushroom bites $14++ for sharing. I had this the previous time and it was good so we had this again. The mushrooms were simmered in red wine sauce...pairs well with the bread and the very tasty tomato & olive jam..yums.For mains, I had the Au Chocolat Mega Club Sandwich $25++....huge serving of 2x 3-tier tower sandwich with tomato, ham, crispy bacon, egg, portobello mushroom and chicken tenders served with french fries. It was delish but I almost couldn't finish it...had to let go the fries Hubby had the Boeuf Bourguignon $26++, he said the beef stew was nice and tender...goes well with the brioche bread.We were stuffed after that and didn't order any desserts. A french sounding place with very appealing visuals, it's no wonder that Au Chocolat is pretty packed soon after its opening. I was quite surprised to actually find that this is a Singapore restaurant and I must say the publicity and branding efforts have been done really well! Upon stepping into its retail arm, I was tempted to buy their merchandises and the desserts in the display fridge. And after hearing so much about their fine chocolate, of course, I couldn't wait to try their main dishes with chocolate infused in it - a rather interesting twist of flavours I guess. I suppose when you name the eggs ben after your restaurant, it's got to be one of your signature dishes right? Reading the description of having their own rendition of hollandaise sauce mixed with red wine and dark chocolate, I drooled just a little. Indeed, it didn't disappoint me at all. It might be an acquired taste for some, but I liked the special twist of flavour. It was rich, yet not overpowering. It had the slight aroma of the red wine and a little sweetness of the dark chocolate. The flavours were well-complemented in my opinion but just as the description went, it's not for the faint-hearted. Try it if you're looking for a more adventurous eggs ben. I liked how the eggs were very well poached and the bright orange egg yolk simply flowed out and blended in well with the sauce, and the salted bacon. It would have been better if the bacon was more tender with a slight crisp toast to it. This ordinary looking dish surprised us with just how good it could get! We were kinda skeptical intially as it seemed like just ham, cheese, egg and toast. Such simple ingredients put together, some magic happened and poof! A charming rendition with thick melted cheese in between, fresh slices of slightly salted ham and sweetened thick toast. Simple pleasures of life. One thing we found out though, there was little QC of the fries as this batch was extremely salty that I cringed with every bite, while another burger dish my friend ordered had minimal salt sprinkled onto it. Nonetheless, I thought this was a good simple dish of contentment.We thought this wasn't very much special. It was a tad too sweet for my liking but well, I've never been a chocolate fan. It would have worked better if this dish was properly explained to us i.e. what type of chocolate this is and if there's anything unique about it so we can actually get it if we're interested and makes us more excited to try it. This was highly recommended by their exceptionally friendly staff. It was pretty huge and I must say the desserts were pretty disappointing given the standards set by the main courses we've had. This wasn't anything special. I found it too sweet for my liking, and as it was too chocolate-y, it got too jelat for us after a while and we were struggling with almost half the slice. It was also quite a shock when we found ice bits in the ice-cream, not exactly the smooth and rich kind we were expecting. Perhaps I'm too much of a critic for desserts, this failed to impress me as well. The first bite I took, it was just too sweet with the yoghurt and the crumbly bits just lost that extra crunch to it. It seemed to have been packed for pretty long, hence the crumble having absorbed the moisture from within and it was just a dull chew. The berries compote were a tad too sour and well, it probably gave a little 'feel good' factor thinking that you're digesting what you've just ate with yoghurt and sour berries. A great place to chill over dinner with great ambience and awesome service. It's a pretty spacious place that's very vibrant, good for gatherings and a rather satisfying dinner. Good to give it a shot if you're in the mood for some adventurous eggs ben. I wouldn't recommend for the desserts though as it didn't quite live up to my expectations. …查看更多

As the title goes.. it's Au Chocolat again... yes! i'm here the 4th time! We went for late lunch after viewing Tulips at Gardens by the Bay. One of my friend is so eager to try cos I have already been here for 3 times, so she reckon it's good. Anyway, we ordered 2 starters for sharing & a main dish each, as well as 3 desserts for sharing.One of the starter - Mushroom Bites $14; Simmer in red wine sauce & pair with freshly baked bread. The stew is so tasty we couldn't get enough, we order another portion of bread just to dip in the sauce!Cottage Pie $25 - My buddy wanted to try this on Monday when we went but she settled on Steak, so she insisted on having cottage pie this time. Comfort food for her but she she couldn't finish this. Au Chocolat Benedict $18 - I was so excited to try the hollandaise sauce infused with red wine & dark chocolate, but was kind of disappointed as the sauce turned out to be a bit bland. I also happened to bite on 'quite a huge' pinch of salt on both the eggsMine - Chocolate Tart $8 - Initially wanted to try the Strawberry Tart (only available on weekends) but it's filled with Vanilla Creme filling, so I decided on this & it proofs to be a wrong decision. This is not as chocolaty as I expected & has cinnamon in it! Should have stick to the Calamansi Meringue Tart!Not very satisfied for me this time round but the girls enjoyed their lunch very much. wahaha... I'm back at Au Chocolat for the 3rd time! This time I'm here with my buddy again & drag my bff along!I wanted to try the Frozen Hot Chocolate $12 the last time but the brunch set doesn't allows me to have the drink change, so I insisted on having it this time round! - be warned of the huge portion & don't sip too fast, else it'll cause brain-freeze! hahaI was deciding between Ribs or Duck Confit, and decided on Mocha Pork Ribs $35 after asking the staff which would he recommend. It was served with sweet potato fries & coleslaw. Ribs were pretty tender as well.. & it's quite a huge portion I would say! I had the huge Calamansi Meringue Tart $7.50 & I find this super nice. Every details here is so pretty; even the coasters! Staffs were friendly & service is prompt! We started out meal with Truffle Fries ($15) served with mayonnaise & BBQ sauce. My buddy loves it, but I find it a little saltyMy buddy had Boeuf Bourguignon ($26) with super Tender beef cheek, bacon, carrots & mushrooms slow cooked in veal stock & red wine, served with potato mash & brioche bread. It was so fantastic she wiped it off to the last bit of sauce!I had Roast Pork Belly ($29) Slow-roasted pork belly served with garlic-infused potato puree, raspberry infused apple sauce & finished with crackling. We went there for mother's day celebration and we were lucky to have reserved a table for it was fully packed.There was a promo ongoing where the 5th main course was free tt weekend.The King's Breakfast. (or rather for the queen) Thick toast served along with it. Loved the avocado that accompanied itRoast chicken. This dish was a little of a disappointment. Would prob not order it again. Tasteless and dry.Duck confit w au chocolat twist. Definitely worth a try! The duck was so succulent and soft right to the bones.Ultimate Benedict. This is the ultimate sin. Though it looked dull in terms of colours, its really a wholeload of sinful goodness.Pancakes topped w bacon, ribeye steak, 2 poached eggs and the special red wine and choc infused holandaise sauce!Smoked Salmon Crepe. This is one of my favourite main course from this restaurant. The duck meat is always so tender and not too dry. The portion is quite generous and really appreciate the nice presentation of this dish which looks really delicious. The mashed potato is also very smooth and soft in texture. Was already getting very hungry while waiting for my food to come and suddenly i smell something nice!!
