My friend recommended this place and she eats there at least twice a month. Soup base we had Mala and herbal chicken. I am not a mala fan but it was still nice as my friends did requested that its made less spicy so I could have more. I adore the herbal chicken soup totally. Menu was, I was eating pork belly throughout and some vege. Was disappointed that my favourite beef meat was awful. It did not taste fresh and it was tough as well. The rest of the items were pretty standard. There were also certain items we ordered and was out of stock. worst thing was that I had to ask for it then I realised it was out of stock. I must give credit that they included dessert in their buffet menu which I thought wasn't common. Although out of the 5 desserts listed only 2 were available. The longan soup was refreshingy good when served chilled. 繼續閱讀

For the full review with pictures, visit http://thewulfcam.blogspot.sg/2013/04/chuan-wang-fu-spicy-hot-pot.htmlWent there for dinner. The place was air-conditioned with quite a few tables. This place used to be packed but now there are only a few tables occupied, probably due to the increased competition and the higher prices. We ordered the Yuan-Yang soup base. The chicken-base was normal but the Ma-La one was spicy and numbing!Their selection of dishes was pretty standard. The meat (besides pork) were pretty lean but the shellfish were not fresh. No Tang-O either Their mango pudding made a pretty nice dessert though!Overall the food was OK, but considering the price, the selection should have been better (and the quality too!!).They served the non-meat dishes rather quickly, though the meat took quite a while (and it wasn't very crowded).Be prepared to feel thirsty after this meal! (Saltish soup!)Spent about S$26++ per person. 繼續閱讀

I have chosen two different broths - chicken and herbal .Yes, as you can see the soup may be a little bit oily. It is a all you can eat steamboat and at a much lower price than any other outlets so I guess we should expect too much XD. Overall, the number of different meat that is available is adequate and it loads up fast if it runs out. The vegetables is however on the much fewer variety side but luckily it has the vegetables I love! . Looking for a cheaper alternative to steamboat? You may check this one out . Just that it is a little bit hard to locate here unless you drive XD. 繼續閱讀

My first visit to this steamboat place today. It was generally a pleasant experience. It's a standard $18.80+ per pax steamboat buffet. You get to choose between 1/2/3 soup bases. For this visit, I picked the Wild Mushroom Soup and Preserved Vegetables with Fish Soup. What was pleasantly surprising was that for the latter, there were really big pieces of fish meat in the soup! And for the record, both soups were very tasty (though I preferred the Preserved Vegetables with Fish Soup). My friend and I kept drinking the soup before the dishes were served to us! (I later suspect that the soup could be so tasty due to high-MSG content, since I was often thirsty for the rest of the day!)The list of steamboat items were, however, not many. And what was most disappointing was that they did not have sliced pork!!! They did have sliced pork belly though but it was mostly fat. Thankfully, the sliced beef was good, though it can never beat the taste of pork! Another item I would recommend would be the chives dumpling, which is rich in flavour. The other items were average to me. I had the mango pudding and some longan thingy for dessert. The former was very bland!!! So, pls skip this item! One mouthful and I left the rest untouched. The longan thingy was, on the other hand, very good! It's not too sweet and served chilled. I had 3 servings of this! Much needed to quench my thirst from the suspected high-MSG content in the soup! (Had requested for a bigger serving bowl but was declined. Oh well! They could wash more bowls then!)The sauces are located at the back. Sadly, I didn't noticed them until i was more than half done. The waitresses seemed to be all PRC but their service were generally ok. Will I be visiting this place again? Probably, but definitely not in the near future cos' I'm am feeling thirsty since lunch.... 繼續閱讀

this steamboat shop is opened by two brothers from china (sichuan maybe? ) the ingredients are fresh and variety is comparable to Chong Qing Huo Guo minus the price.when the shop first open, they give out a $5 voucher for every $40 spent. not sure if they are still giving out the voucher cos we have ceased receiving them. u can enquire about it if u are a first timer.the service is prompt and fast, 95% of the staff are from PRC and they are quick to respond to our requests every time. the portion of the ingredients are reasonable and the service staff seldom missed our orders.the ma la (spicy) soup gives out all the right flavor. but the chicken soup's standard varies at times. there were a few times in the past, when we were there and drank some of the chicken soup. the MSG in the soup was way over and we felt so thirsty one hr after the meal.recently we went again and were happy that the chicken soup tastes better and does not contain as much MSG as before. if u want to save on drinks, just order the dessert (included in the buffet price of $18+++) and ask the staff to add ice into the dessert soup (eg: longan soup, black jelly soup..etc) as the soup are not chilled. 繼續閱讀
