For two years in a row I have requested my friends to buy my birthday cake from Awfully chocolate. I truly love the dark chocolate cake layered with dark chocolate fudge...sinfully delicious! I have been spoilt by ungodly-cheap haagen dazs belgian chocolate while in london – and even discounting the darkest chocolate ice cream at scoopz and the creamy chocolate gelato at oddono’s – that’s rather marred my appreciation for the options here in singapore. stores are plentiful, but ice cream is usually an icy, paltry substitute for the lingering creaminess of gelato.but this place might just be my new go-to. it’s a generous – really unexpectedly so – large scoop of creamy chocolate ice cream in this cute american-chinese-take-out-style box; the flavour is deep – it stands out because it isn’t too sweet – and it gets all creamy and velvety in eating, with a slow melt. and the price is really rather reasonably for the amount you get. and I like those bright green spoons.

If you are a fan of chocolate, this ice cream is for you. This must be the richest chocolate ice cream that I have ever tasted. It is so rich, it is as if you are eating melted chocolate in ice cream form. Also, the chocolate is not too sweet as well, so much of the ice cream is really made of dark chocolate. Quite frankly, as I am not a chocolate fanatic, I got sick of eating it after eating half of it. However, having said that, it will be perfect for sharing between two persons who likes chocolate because it will not get too cloying.

Though the Super Stacked Cake is one of Awfully Choc's specialties, I preferred the White Chocolate Butterscotch Block. For the Super Stacked Cake, I couldn't really taste the different layers of chocolate from the cake. Prior to that, the staff asked if I wanted to heat it up and served warm. But I said No because I liked my desserts to be served chilled. Anyway, Yes, the cake tasted really rich and chocolate-y, but there was not much of texture. In fact, it seemed a little tough. It could have been chilled for too long. It would have been much better if it was allowed to set for a while (or lower the temp?) so that it would be a little creamier to give that "melt in the mouth" effect. Instead, I felt like I was eating a chocolate ice-cream cake! There was nothing really exceptional about it. For the White Chocolate Butterscotch, there was a mix of flavours which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was creamy, smooth, soft and flavourful. If I were to return to Awfully Chocolate, I'd order this again (and maybe try the poached ice cream). Staff friendly and wears a small on their face. There're very few seating areas there though. Only about 4 tables.Still, a price of $6.50 for a small slice of cake - I find it somewhat overpriced. It's good, but there're many other good chocolate cakes out there.

Bought the ice cream from awfully chocolate! Of cause its chocolate flavoured ;DIt's $3.80 for a scoop and I super love it.The chocolate is thick and creamy.It's bitter like dark chocolate, with a little sweetness of milk chocolate. It is not to sweet nor too bitter...and it left me craving for more after that one scoop ;PIt's really worth it because the ice cream is really rich with real chocolate taste.The presentation of the ice cream are cute tooIt's in a little paper plastic box that can even be folded nicely to a small box bag xD
