Awfully Chocolate is an outlet that specialize in, as the name suggests, chocolates. The chocolates in this shop is specially and uniquely crafted; a cut above the rest. Awfully Chocolate's philosophy is simple and unique. The focus is not variety but quality and the product line is deliberately limited. 繼續閱讀

Usually I saw Awfully Chocolate's outlets inside the shopping mall, so this was my first time seeing it located in the residential area (it is nearby my campus somemore!). The place is nice for chilling out or doing school assignments. I also spotted a small backyard with a swing behind, which I thought would be nicer to chill there instead of the indoor area.Hei Ice Cream (single scoop) - $4.90Heard so much raving about this ice cream and finally I was chanced to try it. It has a bold chocolate color, signalling the 70% dark chocolate used to make it. It tasted bitter, but not overly. I managed to finish it, although it made me feel really thirsty afterwards.Chocolate Mille Crepe - $9It was a rip-off for this relatively small mille crepe. It was actually not bad in term of taste, the crepe was chocolatey with subtle chocolate cream and cocoa powder on top. However, I just felt it's not worth my 9 bucks.I probably won't be back as it kinda overpriced for me. At least I have checked the Hei Ice Cream on my foodie bucket list."a balanced diet is chocolate in both hands" - unknown 繼續閱讀

Pls visit: http://dairycream.blogspot.jp/2013/11/awfully-chocolate.html for full post and picsI don't know what is the secret cold-poach method used for this Cold poached chocolate $6.00 but it is simply a velvety semi-solidified chocolate ganache. It was my favourite out of the rest, because it was just pure chocolate goodness without any obstructions in the mouth. The saltiness of the Salted Butterscotch Blondie Brownie $6.90 did not strike out as much as I would have thought. But the delectable fudgy, chewy texture after microwaving makes it one of the earliest cake to be wiped off the plate. On the other hand, the bulky Hazelnut Crumble with a cookie base $6.90 is not something that you will like on the first bite, but the bittersweet taste gradually crawled in. What I like most is the top crumble layer, which was why I bought it initially. But apart from that, I would still pick the Butterscotch Blondie. The White Chocolate Creme Brûlée ($6.90) which was served in a ramekin dish, is now in a the form of tart like their Chocolate Tart. But ooh...this would be one of the sweetest dessert I would remember for life. So sweet that I would avoid at all cost the next time. The White Chocolate Butterscotch Block ($6.50) is not something new on the menu but I wanted to recall its taste. This is fairly good one when you have it with the dense brownies because the light fluffy texture of Swiss roll sponge and the sweet-salty butterscotch cream helps to balance the richness of the latter. But the white chocolate layer tasted more like buttercream instead of fresh cream which I would prefer. And surprisingly, after having ALL these except the Creme brûlée in one sitting, I was not hit with any chocolate concussion as my previous visit for Fullerton Chocolate Buffet. Hope that when I return there will be new items to try too! Visit: http://dairycream.blogspot.jp/2013/11/awfully-chocolate.html for full post and pics 繼續閱讀

everyone talks about their cold poached chocolate.sure i've poached eggs before and for chocolate?call me swaku if you'd like but I didn't actually understood what it meant.still, I was game to try. It comes with a dollop of liquer cream- Brandy, Baileys, Pear, Malt Whiskey and Butterscotchwhat's your choice? I settled with Baileys and I loved it! actually more the cream than the chocolate. Well, they were both perfect together. Mmmm. And a hot butterscotch caramel please. This was... in a word... SWEET. more than a sugar rush, this was a sugar concussion. I kid you not. This probably goes with their Hei chocolate. And NO other sweet treat. You've been warned. I had to down cups of water as I went through this addictively sweet drink. 繼續閱讀

I love this place for being such a serene and peaceful hideout. I love it even more for it's Hei ice cream and original All Chocolate cake. At $11.80 per pint and $25.80 for a 6 inch cake repectively, I'd say prices are pretty reasonable.Their ice cream is not too sweet and you can tell that it is made using quality Belgian dark chocolate. It is very rich and dense, but perhaps a bit too dense for my liking. Chocolate fanatics, on the other hand, would probably down these by the dozens.Hei ice creamThey also serve a small range of cupcakes and specialty dessert that are worth a try. 繼續閱讀

Awfully sinful chocolate. Nothing beats the rich, luscious dark choc “Hei” ice cream Although it's $3.80 per scoop, it is worth every cent. The chocolate is really rich and satisfying. Also, I noticed they are very generous with their "one scoop". To me, it feels more like 1.5 or 2 scoops since the ice cream is filled to the brim of the box. 繼續閱讀
