Even I'm working in orchard area, this is my first time dining in Ayam Penyet Ria.But it's well known authentic Indonesian Restaurant.Located at 5th floor of Far East Plaza.The half of the wall is decorated with mirrors.Their dish ordering system is quite fast and convenient. The staff will pass the order slip to you.Just need to tick what we want to order and pay first. I ordered their signature one, Ayam Penyet (Smashed Fried Chicken), costs $7.90 andthe orange juice, $2.20.Smashed Fried Chicken! Sounds great, rite? The ingredients and taste are fresh and impressive.It served as a set with a quarter portion of fried chicken, fried beancurd, boiled kankong, the cabbage, the nice chilli paste and a bowl of rice.I heard that they smashed with a hammer to loosen and tenderize the chicken meat before deep-frying. The taste of chicken is unique. The outide is crispy and inner is tender and moist.Really tasty when eat together with the chilli. Went to this very famous Ayam Penyet shop at Orchard after a movie and fortunately we took less than five minutes to be seated. The fried chicken is simply very delicious and you must definitely try their sambal chilli if you can really eat very spicy chilli. Super spicy chilli served here but is also equally delicious too. The rice is fragrant and goes well with their crispy and not too oily chicken meat. However would be better if some gravy is topped over the rice as it tastes abit too dry. I worked overtime and decided to have a quick dinner at Ayam Penyet Ria before I return to office to OT.Ordered the Ayam Penyet Boneless chicken set meal that comes with a plate of rice. If I didn't remember wrongly, this meal cost me $6.50.Chicken serving portion was huge. The chicken was crispy and smelt great. It also comes with some Kang kong vegetables which tasted normal only. It only has those crispy fried little bits that tasted great. It also comes with two fried toufu.Serving time was quite fast. Despite the restaurant was at full capacity, my meal came in less than 10 minutes.
