Firsh time trying the golden sands(流沙) bun from Barcook Bakery. The looks of this bun looks different from the golden sands bun I had before from other bakeries. It is made of the salty egg yolk with custard and butter sauce, and for this one it looks whiter and creamier. The golden sands paste is super creamy and it tastes weird. It also doesn’t really go well with the bun and I gave up eating it after a few bite. It’s quite a disappointment, will definitely not buy it again.

I was really attracted by the long queues outside this stall and decided to give it a try. Was really surprise by the limited choices here as all buns are only made in limited quantity to ensure the freshness of it. Have managed to glad one bak kwa bun which the bun texture is very soft and moist. However was really upset by the little portion of mini diced bak kwa in it , which i suppose a more generous portion used in it will make it taste better.

Its pretty rare to see a tray full of buns here. And its not a common sight to see a looong que of ppl waiting to get their hands on those fresh out of the oven buns! Sometime you can see me qing for them after 7 on some days! And it's the Cheese & Raisin buns that make me coming for more and more!!I can honestly say that their buns are one of the best sweet dough buns I have come across. I just loove the texture and their creamed cheese filling is reallly generous and creamy. To really get the ultimate shiokness is when its fresh out from the oven and you're stuck in the rain under some shelter.. I wasnt even bothered about being cold and wet! I had the most yummylicious bun that warms my belly for just 1.40!!!!! If you've not tried it! oh buddy, you dont know what you're missing on!
