While I was in Chong Pang Hawker Centre, I saw a chwee kueh stall selling at very affordable prices, only 8 pieces for $2.The chwee kueh was quite oily, it was dripping with oil. The kueh tasted very good, with right amount of springiness and almost melted in mouth without the need to bite with teeth. However, the cai poh was disappointing. The cai poh was sweet and seem like it had not been braised enough to achieve the kind of savoury as the famous Tiong Bahru Chwee Kueh.But overall, the chwee

This Chwee kueh stall is actually a one of the branch of the Bdok chwee kueh and is a stall that I would always patronize. The kueh is really nice and even without the cai po you can also taste the kueh and it is very "springy" and if you eat with the cai po, it is definietly a perfect match. The price is also quite reasonable ($1 for 4 pieces) and you may see a queue sometimes but the queue clears quite fast so the waiting time is quite short. Definitely worth the time and money!

Although the signboard clearly says Bedok Chee Kueh, you'll find this extremely popular stall in Chong Pang, Yishun. The stall holders aren't exactly the friendliest bunch, but who can blame them? They probably dish out hundreds of chee kueh in this stifling heat and have to deal with patrons giving them large $50 notes for a $1 portion because they don't have small change. But really, looking past the general hostility you are greeted with when patronising this stall, the chee kueh is worth not

Brought a set of the four pieces chee kueh as brunch. The chee kueh has a nice mini dome shape, well made as it has a soft and spongy texture. As the chee kueh has a bland taste, it is accompanied and eaten with the chai pok. The chai pok from this stall has a nice fragrance, crunchy and finely chopped texture, not too salty and goes very well with the chee kueh and lastly it is quite oily. Price starting from $1 for four pieces to $2 for eight pieces.
