Apparently, this has been a perennial favourite of tourists to Singapore. Especially the ones from Hong Kong. So I had a request to buy 6 of these full sized pandan cakes.Shocking? I never bought so many at once before. Nor have I tasted it for a long while. I asked for it to be sliced and the lady over the counter advised me against it as it would cause the cakes to become dry after a period of time. The one that I bought for my own consumption however, she gladly sliced for me. Look at that! The pandan fragrance wafts through my plastic carrier. The soft spongey delicate texture was something that cannot be replicated in the factory made pandan cakes. This was a morning delight for breakfast. It's been a long while since I've had pandan cakes from Bengawan Solo and I was hooked. Get yourself one this weekend!

My sweet colleagues bought me a cake for my birthday. It's a simple gesture. They got this fruit cake from bengawan solo. Surprisingly, this basic/ simple looking cake tasted very good. The sponge was light and fluffy, the cream was not overly sweet. The fruit toppings was generous and fresh. This cake though not patisserie standard had exceeded my expectations.

Thanks to my lovely girl friend for treating me such a big piece of coffee cake from this Bengawan solo outlet, which I certainly has enjoyed it during my tea break hour. The coffee cream is very fragrant and filled with the butter flavour as well. The coffee cake sponge is moist and soft, which is not too sweet as well. Four big pieces are cut from a 500 grams whole cake, which cost merely $22.80. The taste was really good and great to go along with a cup of coffee as well.

A cake is a must for birthday celebrations. Bengawan Solo produces quite a lot of different food items nowadays, such as Kueh, Cakes, Cookies and Swiss Rolls. If you want to order a unique cake, a reservation must be done at least two days before the actual date. Bengawan Solo is famous for their cakes, and after choosing for a long time, we finally bought Almond and Chocolate Cake.What I love about this cake was the insane intensity of chocolate that crushed me from the first bite. Also the caramel outlay of the cake was heavenly melted in my mouth.

Bengawang solo is one the few places left that sells nonya kueh and traditional snacks! There are lots of yummy pastries available including marble cake. This classic cake is a firm favorite for me combining both the rich chocolate cake with the delicious buttery Moist vanilla sponge. This cake though simple is done very well. The buttery taste and rich chocolate filling is rich and decadent. Not expensive too!
