This place is clean and modern looking with plenty of seats. Service was a little slow (I’m guessing time to prepare) but good food and polite.

The miso soup is a must-have for me to complete a Japanese meal. I like to try the miso soup from different restaurants because the taste will vary. Actually, the taste does not have any significant difference from the one from Ajisen (Or at least the one I had at the Ajisen outlet in Clementi) which makes sense because the restaurants are under a same company.

Its worth adding-on the soup. You definitely don't have to worry about getting plain water-like miso soup from botejyu!

I decided to try the mix mushroom set from Botejyu and to be honest, when I saw the amount of bean sprouts, I was pretty disappointed. The serving is already pretty small for its price and 50% of it is actually bean sprouts. Also, I had to wait for over 15 minutes and when it was served, it didn't even feel hot. There are around 3 kinds of mushrooms in the set. It didn't have the strong and appealing mushroom smell and there was no unique or delicious taste in the mushrooms. It tasted like norma

I'd say it was a big mistake and I definitely will not have it again or recommend it to anyone. Its not worth the money.

Botejyu is one of the two restaurants in Jurong Point that serves okonomiyaki (japanese pancake). The restaurant serves two flavour of the pancake, namely, seafood oko and pork oko. I had to wait for 15 minutes during non-peak hours for the oko and it wasn't sizzling either when served. Pretty disappointing at first but I actually preferred it over the yakiyakibo's (The other okonomiyaki restaurant in Jurong Point). It is not as "saucy" as compared to yakiyakibo's where they put a generous amount of sauce on the pancake. Botejyu's pancake is smaller in size but thicker, which is probably during to the amount of flour they put in to the pancake.

The seafood flavour was actually referring to 2 pieces of sotong and prawns. Sounds pretty pathetic but considering how small the okonomiyaki was, it was enough for me. Although I personally prefer Botejyu over Yakiyakibo, I think it'll depend on personal preference on whether one likes the sauce or not. I'm not a big fan of the sauce so I try to avoid it.

Anyway, I do recommend the pancake and from my dining experiences at Botejyu, I would say this is the most and only delicious dish from Botejyu.

By the way, you can add on an egg on top of the pancake for $1.
