So, in lieu of the usual ala carte dinners of past years at French / Italian restaurants, it was my turn to plan for this year. I did some research and comparison, and decided to give Cafe Mosaic's Valentine's Buffet package a try. Cafe Mosaic is a contemporary cafe serving East-meets-West concept cuisine.Nicely decorated with sugar-carved figurines and balloons, resplendent of romantic red-and-pink themes suitable for Valentine's Day, we could see that we were not the only ones eager for celebration at this new cafe. Many well-dressed couples were already at the door, lining up when we got there at 6.30pm.We started with appetizers like salad and seafood and slowly worked our way through the Japanese delicacies and Chinese dimsum items. The spread had quite a few variety and assortments of items - typical buffet items. We dined to soft music playing in the background, and rather good service of the service crew who constantly came to check if we were good with our food etc.I could not resist desserts of course - and they had plenty of cakes and chocolates decorated in lovely heart-shaped themes as well. Needless to say, these were very sweet endearments and the perfect finish to a savoury dinner. For full review and photographs, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2014/02/valentines-dinner-at-cafe-mosaic.html 繼續閱讀

Good:- Even if it was just for high-tea buffet, Cafe Mosaic serves a wide variety of international food that resembles a full buffet. There were japanese station (serving sushi), "live" station (congee, noodles and sliced meat), main station (serving the usual pots of chinese and western food), dessert station (tarts, cakes, ice-cream and even ice-kacang), salad station and even seafood station (serving sashimi, oysters and more)!- The food served were delicious and fresh.- There was even a kids-section to educate and entertain kids. On this day, there were cupcake-making session and balloon-sculpturing session. This keeps the kids engaged and entertained.- Staff were prompt in clearing used plates.- Value for money.Not-so-good:- Occasionally, some staff were over-enthusiastic in clearing half-eaten plates.Overall:Will return again in future. A good place to celebrate children's birthdays and for huge gatherings. Will definitely recommend to friends. 繼續閱讀

This hotel restaurant offered credit card promotion 1 for 1 during certain period. It's worth a try if for promotion but not worth for the usual prices.I went for dinner on a weekday night. The food they offered are standard but not much and limited variety..  The dessert spread is quite good in hotel standard. Taste wise, the chocolate cake was decent and others was just passable. The oysters and poached prawn were fresh. The cooked session food was all passable especially the roasted beef in wine sauce. The mussel, scallop were fresh. But the baby lobster were really so baby size. All the seafood were fresh so as the sashimi. 繼續閱讀

I had a stay-cation with my friends over at Carlton Hotel and we woke up early for our complimentary breakfast! There served a mixture of both Asian and Western food. From the Western side, they have pancakes, omelette, bacon, sausage, hash browns etc and also a salad bar. The Asian section offers congee, steamed dumplings, beehoon etc. My favorite is the lotus paste pau! There is also a pastry counter, where you can a small range of muffins, buns, cakes etc. 繼續閱讀

Project dinner at Cafe Mosaic when it had the one for one promotion for its buffet. We went on weekday buffet dinner which is $68++, $88++ for weekend. I was looking forward for this buffet, wondering what food it would served. There are salad bar, sashimi, sushi, some cooked salad, cooked dishes, noodles and stir fried vegetables, desserts and fruits. To save my stomach space, I skipped the salad bar, tried the sashimi and prawn. They were fresh and nice. I took some sushi, average. Next I had the cooked food, not very impressive. Most tasted average. The stir fried vegetables, less taste and finally is the desserts. I love tiramisu but I got very disappointed here. Not up to my standard, the desserts were all average. The best I think is the black forest cake. We had vegetarian in the group. The hotel can arrange such that they will prepare a set of vegetarian meal for the guest. You can choose either fried rice or noodles. We chose noodles but on the day we had dinner, we found that they actually served Indian Vegetarian - the curry paneer with prata. Tasted not bad too 繼續閱讀
