Our host bought this logcake from the shop Cake History in her neighborhood. The chocolate ganache topping was rather sweet but this was moderated by the taste of the slightly salted butter cream. Texture ok but taste of cocoa in the cake itself was just discernible. 3.5/5 for logcake's appearance and taste. Host commented that this shop's logcake costs about 15% more than last year.

Finally bought some large full size mooncakes. This one is a white lotus egg yolk. I love white lotus. It is not as sweet as red lotus. The egg yolk is overly dry in this one. But the filling is good and the pastry is generous and rustic.Costs about $8.50 each due to the egg yolk. Cheaper if there's no egg yolk. Better than the hotels. And no $++. You can only get donuts from this cake shop in the morning for breakfast. And their donuts was so fresh,they normally sold out before lunch time. And I was one of the fan for their donuts. The bread was soft and slightly dipped in sugar makes the donut stands out. Not only freshly made, it brings back sweet memories of my childhood days munching on the sugar donuts.

Went to buy their rectangular cream cakes for breakfast. It costs seventy cents per piece of the cake. It was filling and good enough for the two pieces of cake to fill my stomach for breakfast. The cake has soft sponge and it's fresh. One was a vanilla sponge cake while the other a strawberry sponge cake and both have butter cream on it. Like both the sponge cakes but can't have it too often because of the butter cream. It will be better if they change to whip cream instead.

As I suddenly craved for butter cream cakes, I decided to get some from the cake history outlet neatr my home as I knew they do sell it. I chose two different flavours, one was the chocolate cake with chocolate chips and the other was the normal cake with some fruit jam on top of it. The cakes were very soft and spongy. Together with the butter cream, the sweetness was balance with slight saltiness. Very delicious. Never fails to remind of younger days. Cannot have too much cos it is more fatten

Have always like the cheese waffle at "cake history". The waffle is freshly make when you ordered it. The waffle taste hot and with a slice of the cheese inside it, the hotness melted the cheese almost immediately. When you have a bite of the waffle, the nice fragrant smell of it and cheese will really make you want to finish the whole waffle in no time. Must give it a try )

It really brings back memories of the old days when I was very young at that time. The smell of the cake, the butter cream instead of fresh cream and with a strip of kiwi, strawberry and lemon flavour cream on the cake. The sponge is vanilla flavour and it taste soft and fresh. Must try their cream cake though it will be fattening abit cause of the butter cream, but still worth to give it a try.

Have tried the mini curry puffs at Cake History and it taste nice. So I decided to get the normal size curry puff for my breakfast one morning. Sigh!!! It fall short of my expectation this time round. I found the crust of the curry puff was abit thick compared to the mini ones that was thinner and more crispy. The fillings also not that wonderful this time and the curry was abit thick but have half an hard boiled egg inside the puff. Still prefer their mini curry puffs much more.

This bakery also sells curry puff. They have 2 versions, one is bigger and costs $0.70, the other is smaller and sells for 3 for $1. I would prefer the smaller ones because they are more cripsy on the outer layer. However, it has been sold out already so I had to go for the bigger version. The bigger version has a quarter hard boiled egg inside. The outer layer is not as crispy. The curry potato inside has been meshed up so you cannot see the potato at all. This bakery is near my house so normally if there is a need to buy some bread or cakes, I will go there. Cake History sells a variety of pastries, cakes and bread.
