Extremely bad service - 1st dish ordered was their "signature" rickshaw noodles ... had the audacity to "forget" to put in the chicken wing ... no apology from staff. The atmosphere here is nice, the decor looks like very Hong Kong ish feeling. And I had the ginger coke which is my favourite. The ginger coke here will keep one sprouting bubbles even till the end so its really nice feeling on the tongue. The Sichuan Dan Dan mian I like! Saw this restaurant at B1 of Star Vista and found that the design of this restaurant was very cool and old school! hahaha so me and my friend decided to dine here We weren't very hungry that day and so we decided to just order a main course and a few sides to share. For our main course, we ordered chicken chop cheese baked rice which was quite nice! The chicken chop was tender and well marinated and the cheese baked rice was fragrant!! Only sad thing was that the serving was really small :( hahah i think it wouldn't be enough to fill a normal person's stomach! Anw we also ordered a sandwich with luncheon meat and egg which was very nice but once again i felt that the serving was very small. Lastly, we also ordered a set of swiss wings to share. It was basically soy sauce braised chicken wings i think? hahaha but i think the sauce they used to marinate their wings was home-made one cause it tasted abit special and different from the typical soy sauce. Anw the wings was well marinated and was quite tasty!! Worth a try :) We also ordered their hot milk tea and look at the cup they used!! Alyssa chosen Wantan Noodle soup ($6.50), Goh ordered his favourite Beef Noodle ($6.00) and I go for their 鱼蛋河粉 ($4.50). Beside that I ordered some side dish to go along too .... fried fish skin ($3), HK Chee Cheong Fun ($4) and 油菜 ($6).Alyssa finished all her wantan mee and no complain should be good, Goh commented that the beef was tender and as for my 鱼蛋河粉 was a healthy dish! Average food and service, do not go during peak periods - the queue system is terrible because the waitresses do not care and guests can just walk in and sit down at the outside portion without queuing when there is a queue outside.Inside is very stuffy and the tables are TOO CLOSE to each other!!! We ordered:1) Seafood Baked Rice - When I asked for cheese powder, the waitress was not sure if there is.. walked here and there .. and finally I had to ask another waitress only to be told there is NO cheese powder. Overall, rice was not tasty.2) Wanton Noodles (Dry) - Supposed to be Hong Kong-style Wantan noodles, but was not. The noodles stuck together, rather tasteless, and there was too little sauce. Wanton stuck to the bowl and also stuck together in a clump.We helped ourselves to the green-cut chilli because the staff was too busy to care about us. My second visit today, like the blasting of old canto pop and atmosphere. But the big but is food still need a lot of improvement and effort for the service too is lackadaisical. My biggest complaint is the Soya soy chicken thigh noodle. It took the longest to come while the rest of my orders were already eaten and even the table next were being served. After a bit of complaint it came. My nightmare begun! I realized why it took so much longer, the chicken was evidently needed to be microwaved hot. The lazy cook just put in on the noodles and dumped the whole plate into the microwave tone heated together. Resulting this monstrosity of a dried chicken, a totally shriveled lettuce and a mass of clumped carbohydrate called noodles.When I complaint the waitress simply told me she will check w kitchen but never got back to me. To her defense, she was simply too busy as there were only 2 waitress's served the whole cafe indoor and outdoor! Closer to 12 another waitress showed up.To their credit the wanton is nice other than that I recommend a miss for this, it's not worth the $7-9 dishes excluding taxes as even the service is not forthcoming. Central Hong Kong cafe at Star Vista is most probably one of the cheaper food options in Star Vista.However, do not expect too much for their food as well as their service. Food is mediocre and service is terrible. We ate cheese baked rice with chicken chop. ($8.00) The portion is quite small but it has just the right amount of cheese. I had passed this cafe before. It is not like any other HK cafe in the sense that the décor inside and outside the cafe is very retro. That makes one think that this cafe can serve the very traditional HK dishes. I find the cafe special, so I decided to go in. I ordered the French toast, one of the chef recommended dishes the cafe offers. The toast is thick and golden brown with a slice of butter on top. It is crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The butter adds a salty milky taste to the toast. Inside the toast, there is a layer of egg between the crisp and the bread. The egg is bouncy but can be thicker to give the toast a more eggy flavour. A bottle of syrup is provided for the toast. The syrup makes the toast sugary.Well, this is one dish served by the cafe that I had. I find it acceptable. I can come there for other dishes next time. :)…查看更多

Initially I wanted to have lunch at the food court but I was put off by the massive lunch crowd hence it was while exploring the basement of the Star for other food options that I chanced upon the central hong kong cafe. I was first attracted by the facade of the cafe as it reminded me of the traditional hong kong tea cafe or 茶餐厅. After a quick glimpse at the menu outside, I was quickly ushered to my seats. There are two kind of seating in the cafe, either the outdoor or indoor. personally I prefer the indoor, for its ambiance, while others may prefer the outdoor for its slightly bigger seating space. Once u are inside, you will be immediately greeted by a massive picture of the legendary Bruce Lee, pictures of other Hong Kong stars as well as the nostalgic Canton classic such as 上海滩. Even the furniture pays close resemblance to the traditional Hong Kong cafe and the menu is presented in both Chinese and English languages.Despite it being the lunch hour and the kitchen can get a tad busy, the service was good. The staff was friendly in responding to our requests. In my case, we had asked for a change in our tables as we were initially seated right underneath the fan and had felt cold. We were promptly changed to another table and our food was served quicker than expected too.We had ordered the Hong Kong milk tea with ginger ($2). I quite like the tinge of ginger taste with the milk tea.This is braised beef brisket noodle ($6). We were pleasantly surprised to see the large serving of noodles and the beef given the price. The noodles, I feel was cooked to perfectly as it was springy and not soggy ( a tell-tale sign that the noodles had been cooked a tad too long). I am not a big fan of beef as I was always put off by a certain distinct taste of beef hence imagine my joy as I have my first small bite of the beef- it is very tender and juicy and there is no such taste in the beef!We also ordered the stir-fry fish slice with bitter-gourd rice ($7.50). This I feel is really worth the money as the dish was served with a sunny-side up and a generous portion of fish and bitter-gourd, onions and bell peppers. Given such huge serving, I could only wish that I had more rice to eat with. The fish was deep-fried first before frying with the vegetables in the oriental preserved black bean sauce.For dessert, we have Pomelo mango cream (杨枝甘露 ) ($4). This is not a value for money as surprisingly, compared to the main course we had, the serving was pretty small with just a few chunks of Mango and a little sago and pomelo. The dessert is also a little too sweet for me and I feel that the puree is not as creamy and thick as I would have expected it to be.All in all, a decent meal which can definitely filll up your stomach given the large serving. Went to the new shopping mall name The Star Vista, their environment is is open air shopping mall. we look for some nice food restaurant to try out. Come to a HK restaurant, the restaurant look as like a Hong Kong restaurant style. With many old generation artist poster.
