 We arrived at around 1pm on a Saturday afternoon, and was quickly seated and placed order for their featured dishes. The modern bistro-style restaurant has an open concept kitchen showcasing chefs hard at work churning out western and asian fusion dishes for the diners.

 The food arrived pretty quickly, and the first dish served at our table was their signature 'Best Chicken in the City', a roasted chicken (half) served with two choices of sides (German Potato Salad, Macaroni & Cheese, Butter Garlic Rice and Steamed Fresh Vegetables). The 3 options available for this dish are:
- Quarter chicken with 2 sides at $14.50+
- Half chicken with 2 sides at $24.00+
- Whole chicken with 4 sides at $44.00+
Charly T’s Original Recipe, free-range chickens are marinated for over 13hrs before being slow-cooked rotisserie style to achieve its tender and juicy texture.

 We were very impressed with the roast chicken, the meat was succulent and really tender, even the breast meat was moist and not dry and tough like regular roast chicken sold elsewhere. The sauces served with the chicken were pretty yummy too. Definitely recommended!
The half chicken was served with two sides, German Potato Salad and Macaroni & Cheese. The potato was well cooked till soft and topped with smokey bacon bits, making the otherwise bland tasting dish very enjoyable, I liked.

 The Mac & Cheese on the other hand was not cheesy enough for us. While we understand that this dish uses a special recipe from the award-winning Chef Rozanne Gold, which is supposed to contain less cheese and includes fresh cauliflower as a healthier alternative, but the cauliflower taste was very faint and the dish tasted quite bland overall. This dish may appeal to those who are health conscious and appreciates lighter tasting wholesome food.

 We were served one round of beer and mini burger sliders next. For the new promotion at Charly T's, diners are able to order unlimited bottled Budweiser beer and Mini Beef and Chicken Burgers served with fries ($38+ per pax).

 We sampled one set of Beef & Chicken mini burgers first. The beef patty was well executed, juicy and tender and well marinated.
The chicken burger was more interesting, it contains 3 small slices of thin crispy Schnitzel-style Chicken. Schnitzel is German for a boneless meat, first thinned with a meat tenderizer, and then coated with flour, beaten eggs and bread crumbs, and finally deep-fried till crispy. It is a popular dish served at many German restaurants. The 3 pieces of schnitzel chicken stacked together created a thick yet crisply layered mouthfeel for the burger, we liked it very much and ordered a second serving of chicken burger sliders.

 We were starting to feel quite full and decided to move on to desserts. After checking out the dessert menu, we picked out 3 desserts and requested the waiter to serve them in tasting portion (if possible) as we're not able to finish all 3 in full portion.
Molten Cake $10+, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The cake is made of good quality dark chocolate which was very dense and flavorful and not too sweet, nice! Although the molten center wasn't very lava like, it still taste delicious with the creamy ice cream. I don't mind having this again.

 Homemade Ice Cream Sandwich $8+, vanilla ice cream sandwiched in between two giant cookies. The giant cookie was quite hard initially but soften a little after soaking in the melting ice cream and turned out to be quite yummy to eat, not bad.

 Kaiserchmarrn $16+, a traditional German dessert which is a light, caramelized pancake made from a sweet batter using flour, eggs, sugar, salt, and milk, and baked in butter. Raisins are traditionally added in the pancake mixture, and the dish is usually served hot, sprinkled with powdered sugar, together with apple or plum sauce or various fruit compotes. At Charly T's, this was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

 We were rather unsure when the waitress first recommended this dessert to us, but we're sold once we took our first bite. It was very tasty, the pancake was light and fluffy and not overly sweet but very filling. Luckily, they served us a reduced portion for this dish.
Out of the 3 desserts, only the Kaiserschmarrn pancakes are served in a smaller portion, we were filled to the brim at the end of the meal!
We had a very pleasant dining experience at Charly T's, both food and services exceeds our expectations. I would come back regularly if I stayed in the east. But for now, I highly recommend the easterners to go check it out!

Used our groupon for this meal. If without the groupon, I don't think is the worth the original price. The chicken is not hot when served, and the meat is kind of dry, the taste is not bad, but the accompanying sauce doesn't really match the chicken. The fries is hot and fresh! I like the garlic rice most because it is very fragrant and delicious.

Last Sat, I went to Charly T's at 112 Katong, the place itself is quite quiet and small however they have child play area just nice to entertain my kid.In terms of food, we ordered the specialty roasted chicken with garlic rice and mac and cheese.. We ordered desserts, apple strudel and tiramissu, both are quite nice, surprisingly! hahaha.. coz we lost hope in the food already, but the desserts are quite good, I quite like the apple strudel. It came with (I think it's) coconut ice cream, the ice cream taste is normal.
My kid likes the tiramisu, it's sweet and nice.
So if you want to go to this restaurant, just try the desserts, don't bother to order the mains, too expensive for such taste.

 Quite a long time I didn’t touch on Beer, I was thrilled to have it. Price was slightly higher if compared to shops outside, yet I knew I paid it for the pleasant environment. Toasting and had our joyful time there, it was a suitable place for friend chatting.

Went to Charly T's on a weekday afternoon and it was surprisingly empty unlike the other restaurants/cafes/eateries. Ordering was a hassle having to deal with reading off the board behind the cashier but I eventually settled for the pork ribs. However, I almost immediately regretted that choice.The sauce was cloyingly sweet, and it didn't complement the meat at all. The ribs tasted like they were boiled and then brushed with the sauce, because they were tasteless on the portions that wasn't soak

However, I almost immediately regretted that choice.

The sauce was cloyingly sweet, and it didn't complement the meat at all. The ribs tasted like they were boiled and then brushed with the sauce, because they were tasteless on the portions that wasn't soaked with the sauce. The additional dip didn't help either. The only saving grace of the dish was the vegetables which were not overly boiled...

Lime Mousse at the Katong 121 shopping mall Charly's T after a long hearty dinner. The lime mouuse is refreshingly nice and not too sweet (which i hate my desserts to be). Sufficiently flavoured and melts in your mouth nicely. The hint of lime is nicely done too. The service was good as well and the staff was friendly. Will probably return to try other desserts on another day.

Having supper and catching-up session after movie date with a group of friends, this is a cool chillout place for gatherings. The French fries was hot and crispy when served, it was addictive!
I am new to Rote Grutze basically it's a sweet and sour mixed berries pudding (jelly) served with ice cream. Delicious !
As for the drinks , the rootbeer float was frothy and the ice cream was creamy. Red Tang, was very fruity tasting. Mixture of berries and lychee, I had to ask for more ice to dilute it a little. Too sweet.

It was darling's off day and we decided to eat at Katong 112 after he went to the workplace to do some stuff. I made the reservation as required but went somehow later due to some circumstances in finding the place as there 1 car entrance that is only for loading and unloading bay. When we reached we had a hurried dinner through as there was an event to attend. We were greeted by the friendly staff. Slight apologies that we have to rush them for food but well they served it fast and hot. Well, I think they should be a menu that we could order when we sit instead of standing at the counter to make the order as it rather hard to see and decide which can be quite stressful and tiring but luckily the staff made some recommendation and we decided to go according to it.

We had their 1/2 chixorigin which is strongly recommended as their signature food although we have been having some chicken meal for the past few day. Well, this never disappointed us it big enough for 2 person and came in 3 different sauces that we can try . Darling love the chili as usual , I love it plain and the with the chili as it is not as spicy. There also macaroni and the mash potatoes as well, the macaroni with cheese wass cheesy and nicè from most if it outside. The potatoes was a bit hard as I prefer it to be slightly softer . The tiramisu is thick and rich which well blend nice and nicèly presented. The float comes with the root beer and the ice cream but wasn't really enough for us. The mushroom soup was really recommendable as it smells nice and aroma , soup are smoothly the throat with a bit of bread crumbs that I wish to have more. When we wen there it was really quiet so it romantic to us but we'll in term of parking the place might be a bit troublesome. Overall,the price is ok and the place is neat.

Here’s another with 4 different sauces you can choose from. But honestly, I prefer to eat the chicken without any because it’s already so flavourful! We tried the Original Recipe chicken and the Black Pepper version and preferred the former as you get the juicy taste of the chicken! I love their version of macaroni and cheese! It's a drier version than many are used to, but at least this way the cheese complements the pasta rather than overwhelm it! Two thumbs up from me!

Just like i mentioned in my title, that sums up my experience dining at charly-t last night. First about the interior, it looks small from the outside but only fellow diners will know they actually hv an alfresco area with sofa couches and also a large flat screen tv playing MioStadium soccer shows. its also ventilated with fans but not sure if you can smoke there though.  I took the indoor seats though, and gives you a partial view to the kitchen seeing the chefs but you can't really see what they are preparing though. Proceeded to order and pay at the counter, then collect a number and wait to be served. We ordered the usual chicken cordon bleu $16.50, 1/4 kansas city bbq chicken with 2 sides $15 and molten chocolate cake $9.

The cordon bleu is served simple, with the breaded chicken dish with some fries as side dish, lemon slices and tatare sauce. Due to its nature of cooking. its hot inside but that's also the nice part. My sides were potato with bacon bits and macroni and cheese. This is where the standard seems to be different, the sides here are much tastier and well portioned than handy road. My chicken also came wel roasted yet not leaving the chicken meat too dry, something which i did not find at handy road outlet as well. But i will still have to gripe about the tiny little saucer they used to hold the accompanying dips, i ended up having to call for top up 3 times, till even the waiter seems impatient (which i give a thumbs-down for that). Molten cake was chocolate based with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and slices of strawberry, definitely a recommendation for the sweet tooth.

Service wise its mixed reaction, they were nice and courteous and gets your orders fulfilled but it was sometimes hard to get them, i have to raise my hand and gesture several times before someone eventually comes into the dining area and notice a customer calling for service. most of the time, they were not seen outside waitering but at the back kitchen. On one occasion, the kitchen staff notice even hv to prompt the waitering staff to come up after seeing me raise my hand for quite sometime and waiting in vain for someone to appear.

This grilled chicken here never failed to impress me. Firstly , the chicken meat is always so tender and juicy. The marination used to the chicken is also very fragant and appetitizing as well. Love the different types of sauces that are provided to it, which one of my favourite will be their peanut sauce. It is very smooth and the light peanut flavour in it certainly goes quite well wiith the chicken.

Part of the wall in Charly T's showcase the drawings done by different children who have been to Charly T's. The restaurant will provide the colouring pencil and paper for children. Talk about family/kids friendly restaurant. This will keep the children busy while parents savour the food (peacefully).

Furthermore, there is an al fresco lounge area outside. Perfect for drinking, watching soccer matches and/or enjoying the view.

The signature Rotisserie Chicken (original recipe) was marinated for over 13 hours before being slow-cooked rotisserie-style. It did not disappoint. Marinated with herbs and spices, the exterior was crisp while the interior was juicy and tender. Yummlicious.

When ordering, you can request for your favourite chicken part.

The Rotisserie Chicken Kansas City BBQ was my favourite. Executed slightly different from the original recipe and black pepper, it was well marinated. It was more flavourful and tasty. In addition, the thigh meat was so soft, tender and juicy that I had to go for second serving to satisfy my palate.

Four different type of sauces to complement the Rotisserie Chicken. (I did not see a need for the sauces, as I like the original flavour (marination) of the chicken)

Four additions (sides) available when you order the Rotisserie Chicken; namely Macaroni & Cheese, German Potato Salad, Fresh Vegetables and Butter Garlic Rice.

 My favourite was the Macaroni & Cheese (it was tough choosing between German Potato Salad and this). You will either hate this or love this. To me, this was superbly executed. This uses a recipe from award-winning Chef Rozanne Gold's 'Eat Fresh Food' cookbook. It contains less cheese and includes fresh cauliflower.

 A popular Hawaiian (Honolulu) dish, the Kalua Pork was marinated and slow-cooked for 48 hours! The top layer of fats and skin have been removed, leaving just the lean meat behind. It was so soft and tender that the meat could be easily pulled apart. If you prefer a healthier choice compared to Chinese-style pork belly, this is a good alternative as you can indulge guilt-free.

An Austrian German dish, the Jumbo Schnitzel Burger consists of a big piece of deep fried chicken cutlet and slices of bacon sandwiched by 2 buns served with fries. The chicken was coated with bread crumbs and deep fried till golden brown. It was incredibly crispy on the outside yet tender and moist on the inside. The fries deserve a mention too. Lightly salted, the fries were crispy on the outside and soft,fluffy on the inside. Exactly the way I like my fries to be. (I am sure this is a kid's favourite! fried chicken and fries!)

CT's Beef Burger served with nachos. The beef patty was thick, meaty and tasty. However, it was on the a tad too chewy and dry.

I was impressed that Charly T's fried the bottom of each of the 2 buns before serving. Despite being full, (the usual practice will be just to skip having the bun) I found myself savouring the buns as on the bottom, it was crisp yet at the top it was soft (the little things that matters).

 Talk about ending the meal with a bang. The Austrian German dessert; Kaiserschmarrn totally blew me off. Shredded warm, fluffy caramelised pancake dusted with powder sugar and raisins complemented perfectly with the Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. The hot and cold combination along with the raisin and powder sugar were such a perfect match that I found myself indulging endlessly despite being full. A must order (tip: get the piece with the most powder sugar and pair it with the raisins and ice cream).

Macroni Cheese

There are quite many types of side dishes for you to choose from if you buy any main course at Charly T's. One of my favourite is still their macroni cheese. It may not look that appearing and quite simple, but the taste is simply delicious. The macroni is chewy and not too soft. Love those orange coloured melt cheese which is quite thick, slight sweet in flavour and goes very well with the macroni. However the price is abit too high for a bowl at four dollars.

This is not just a usual quarter chicken which has been grilled or roasted with the normal barberque sauce, this version from here is very tasty and filled with lots of sweet juices from the meat. The meat is very tender and every bites of it can taste the unique spices flavour that have been absorb into this yummy meat. Without any sauce to go with it, you will still feel that it tastes great on its own. The side dishes are just alright and like the generous big portion of meat served to me
