Go for tea

There are really quite few cafes around changi area which is conducive for a chat and just have a piece of cake and chill out. That explains why I am a frequent visitor of Chock Full of Beans. As previous visit for their set lunch was disappointing, I have since decided to avoid their mains and just go for cake or drinks. I had the new york cheese cake, the chocolate art accompanying my cake was an added bonus. The cake was normal though, nothing special about it.

Avoid the wraps

My second visit which was rather disappointing. Went to chock full of beans for their set lunch after having tried their cake set the other time round. Chose the chicken wrap, which tasted horrible; it was basically pieces of chicken with greens wrapped with a whole grain pita bread. It was so hard to swallow, even subway tastes much better. Also, my friend didn't want coffee that day, and wanted to top up more money for their hot chocolate instead (50 cents difference between their cappuccino l

 My second visit which was rather disappointing. Went to chock full of beans for their set lunch after having tried their cake set the other time round. Chose the chicken wrap, which tasted horrible; it was basically pieces of chicken with greens wrapped with a whole grain pita bread. It was so hard to swallow, even subway tastes much better. Also, my friend didn't want coffee that day, and wanted to top up more money for their hot chocolate instead (50 cents difference between their cappuccino listed on the original menu) because she didn't want a caffeinated drink, but they flatly refused and the reason given was that it will confuse their staff (there were only 2 tables occupied that day by the way). How inflexible, and totally ruined our lunch. The only good thing about that meal was the cute latte art - I got a totoro. So all in all, go for the coffee, but not the food.

Location in Changi Village, this place is not to be missed for their latte art. Went for their tea-time and had the cake set (around $8.90 for a hot drink and cake). As we read about this place before, we requested for a Pikachu as decor around the cake. The latte art was random though, and I got a doraemon, absolutely adorable! They have since come up with thousands of characters, probably the best latte art in town. As for the lemonade, it was a refreshing drink, but not worth for the price.

Chock full of beans: a nice hideout

We were thinking of where to have dinner on a weekday night without having to fight crowd. LG then mentioned Chock full of beans, saying that the place is quite well known for their latte art (I'm a lover of that). Reached there at about 8pm as we spend quite a while to look for the place and turns out to be just besides the open carpark (the first shop houses along the stretch of that Tiong Bahru Ye Zi mei Bao). There was not too much of a crowd and we guessed it was due to a weekday and there

Reached there at about 8pm as we spend quite a while to look for the place and turns out to be just besides the open carpark (the first shop houses along the stretch of that Tiong Bahru Ye Zi mei Bao). There was not too much of a crowd and we guessed it was due to a weekday and there was a heavy downpour earlier. Anyway it suits us as this is exactly what we were looking for; a nice cosy cafe for the evening. However, I do recomend making reservation first as the seating capacity is quite limited.

We ordered the Latte, of course and we couldn't really make up the design until the person told us that its a snake (to be in line withthe upcoming cny?). It looked like one of the pokemon character but was quite cute nevertheless.

The first side that came is the Nachos cheese and it tasted alright. Well I guess it's quite hard to go wrong for this snack. Following was the meatball and we were expecting Ikea kind of meatball but theirs was with tomato pasta sauce and lightly toasted bread served at the side. Meatball is cooked just right and the toasted bread goes well with the sauce.

We wanted to have the all day big breakfast and turns out that they only serve it on weekends. We then ordered the Chicken wrap and smoked salmon sandwhich. LG likes the wrap as the grilled chicken was nicely seasoned with herbs together with the refreshing salad. Salmon sandwich is average.

It was a nice experience overall and we decide to return for their big breakfast one of these days.

the coffee in this cafe is really fragrant when we passed by! So we went into the cafe and ordered the cappucinoThe coffee is nicely decorated with the skimmed milk with leaf design <3We had a nice day chatting and enjoying coffee there.The service of the staff is good, we sure will go there again!
