It was before a national event, and we three gathered here at The Collective Brewers for some chatter and discussion before proceeding over to the event. Nice rustic interior wtih minimalistic look, this cafe and I have managed to miss each other for a few times already. Finally I got to try it out!*W had the Iced Black Coffee and I had the Iced Latte. The latter was creamy, nutty and fragrant with coffee goodness; it being utterly cooling was a blessing in this killer weather, refreshing me.The Bacon and Mushroom Pasta (SGD$15.00) - pasta well moistened yet retaining a springy texture, rich in creamy garlic flavour and redolent of sauteed shitake and button mushrooms' sapid deliciousness. The Maplewood-smoked bacon was soft but firm, retaining a light taste, contributing well to the pasta with its veggie compatriotes. The After Eight Ice-cream Cookie Sandwich (SGD$7.90) consisted of dark chocolate brownie cookies clasping pure peppermint ice-cream within, served with whipped cream, chocolate sauce and peppermint chocolate chips. Teeth willl find themselves sinking luxuriously into the firm but cushy brownie cookies, raveling in the rich chocolate lusciousness, and then slowly coming into contact with cool minty freshness - jolting the senses awake in the most beautiful way. After a few bites, it got a little cloying, but I still loved the chocolate-mint combination enough to polish of the entire giant ice-cream sandwich. For full review and more detailed information, please feel free to refer to:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2015/11/afternoon-tea-at-collective-brewers.html 繼續閱讀

Happened to be in the area in the evening one day and we decided to drop by this cafe serving a dinner menu. Collective Brewers is located along Changi road and if you are not observant, you would just miss this quaint little cafe. So how was dinner?Har Cheong Gai One word - salty, but if you dipped it in the chilli provided, it tasted a little better. Fried dough fritters I quite liked this dried dough. You can't go wrong with fried stuff can you? The dip was a good accompaniment.Pulled pork burger hardly the best pull pork around. Spammed with bbq sauce, you don't taste the smokiness of the pork, or did they even smoke it ? disappointing to say the least. Pandan chicken We were surprised at the name of the dish and expected something amazing. Unfortunately, it too came out blend with just a hint of pandan flavour. Thankfully the chicken patty was juicy. Fries were lovely though. overallreview: full pics and review @ http://shauneeie.blogspot.sg/2015/06/collective-brewers-chang-road.html 繼續閱讀

Situated along Changi Road, Collective Brewers pretty inaccessible if you are one who prefers travelling on MRT, but its actually not too far from the nearest bus stop. A simplistic space, its quite easy to miss as its pretty much camouflaged by the eateries around it. Currently in the soft launch phase, it serves only coffee, and payment is by tip basis. They do have espresso-based coffees, but I was in for their Cold Brew (Tip Basis; I paid $6) instead. On the day of the visit, they were using blends from Common Man Coffee Roasters which are known for its fruity punch due to its heavy body. What I experienced from their Cold Brew was slightly different; while the flavour seems to be fully extracted from the beans, I cannot deny on how smooth and comforting it is. Basically, it still packs that fruity punch, but its not at all overwhelming. That nutty finish also left not much aftertaste behind, which I thought was rather well-executed.For more photos and the full review, please visit: http://jiaksimipng.wordpress.com/2014/10/31/collective-brewers-changi-road/ 繼續閱讀
