Crystal jade egg tarts are pretty good. The pastry is slightly crumbly and flaky and the custard is eggy light and smooth. The custard is very tasty and does not leave you feeling overwhelmed by an eggy taste or leave you with a cloying feeling. My first time trying the chinese style of chicken pies. The pastry is sweet and buttery unlike a normal chicken pie. The pastry used is the sweet shortcrust type unlike the regular puff pastry of a western chicken pie. The pie though small is deceivingly filling. The char siew chicken filling inside the pastry is savoury and contrasts with the sweet pastry to make for a good match. Only qualm is that it is slightly expensive for the small size.…查看更多

I bought an egg tart from Crystal Jade for my supper as I was feeling a little hungry after work. After 8:30pm, there will be a 20% off storewide for the items in Crystal Jade, so it is quite worth the money. The egg tart is of a crusty type with flaky pastry which will just crumble when you bite into it. crystal jade has always been known for consistent cantonese food. have always been eating at their restaurants since the days of Tampines Mall. Some of the recommended at this branch includes the BBQ pork and duck platter. Also try the fried cod fish with salt and pepper but you might have to ask the waitress if it's not on the menu. that's a love story right there.initially i wasn't so keen on the satay sauce part.i didnt want something peanutty. i really thought it'd be like satay sauce.but this was it.yums. there was vermicelli in this.if you ate this as a meal, it probably wouldn't work because that's just too much salty sauce.but this calls for rice.a lot of it. :)beef slices. favourite fungi.and vermicelli soaked in the delicious gravy.…查看更多

The FoodCrystal Jade bakery is one of the many bakery shops that I always visit as it is very convenient for me. The bread choices are quite limited compared to other bakery shop like Breadtalk but I usually go for its egg tarts instead. That is because I love the crust of its egg tart. Had a nice late afternoon meal with my family here. the place was pretty empty when we walked in. hence it was very quiet till talking had to be in hushed tones. food wise was delicious - i love the mushroom tofu, gu lu rou and diced chicken with dried chilli slices. Bought a packet of Carrot Toast from Crystal Jade My Bread at Basement 1 of Junction 8 as I wanted to try something different and new. Carrot Toast sounded interesting and healthy to me, and indeed it was a right decision made! Drink + dessertThere is a promotion of ordering the selected drink and selected dessert with lower prices so i decided to have it. The soya bean drink is not very nice, too sweet and not smooth enough. The barley drink is okay, but again, it's too sweet. The Gui Ling Gao is quite bitter, but with the honey syrup it is much better, and i love this cold jellish dessert, slurppps! The mango pudding is less delicious, not jellish, and the mango taste is quite plain.salted egg prawnThe prawn is first deshelled, battered, deep fried to golden perfection and then sauteed with mashed salted egg yolk mixture to become this fragrant, salty but tasty dish. The prawn is quite large one, easy to eat because it has no more shell, and crunchy which shows that it is fresh. Though the portion is quite small, it is quite enough for three persons.Braised herbal duckthe duck is served sizzling hot although we waited for quite some time. The meat is not hard, quite tender and full with flavours. The gravy is great to eat with rice, I am so appetizing to have this as one of the dish.Here I am gonna mention about the service of the restaurant, the serving of food is very slow, we even gonna wait for some time after we finish the first dish to get the second dish served. Have family gathering here at Crystal Jade, and we ordered a lot of dishes such as scallop cauliflowers. claypot doufu. Char kway teow and many more. But among these many dishes, the dishes i like most and i do recommend one to try is their roasted duck :-) . the roaasted duck skin is very crispy and i could taste the nice roasted smell. My hubby wanted to bring me to White Rabbit for French fine dining for our wedding anniversary celebration, however i was not feeling well. So we go for crystal jade instead.Without any appetite, this simmered rice cooked with mince meat and mushroom served in a hot pot really open up my appetite! The soup is tasty that i ate few bowls! we also ordered the BBQ pork and roasted pork.
