Had a casual dinner at Crystal Jade Junction 8. Today @7pm peak hour, there isn't any queue at all which is quite rare....Chicken fillet with almond flakes and lemon- Love the almond flakes, very crispy. Lemon gravy opens up my palette and easy to eat.Silver bait fish with salt and pepper - This is suppose to be the starter but it came last :( This dish is "so so" as it's not as crispy and very oily. Also there's not much taste in it.Sliced fish soup with herbal and Chinese wolf berries - i think this is their new dish as i've never seen this on their menu before. my mother bought a delicious bread from crystal jade for my breakfast. It was pork floss with egg mayo. I love the amount of mayo they add to the egg, making it very creamy and delicious. the pork floss was not the dry dry kind. It went really well with the egg mayo and the bread. Po lo bun is one of my favourite bread. It has crispy bread crumps on the surface and beneath is a very soft and fresh bread. The char siew filling is sweet and not fatty so it does not make one feel sick of eating it. The sweetness of the char siew makes them very addictive. Crystal Jade My Bread does one of the best char siew polo buns around.I have tried some really fantastic ones from Hong Kong itself but it's impossible to get one from there almost every week.The polo bun is rich in butter and soft, even better when it's freshly baked or reheated up. The porridge in crystal jade was one of the nicest one I ever try. And my favourite was the roasted duck with chicken in porridge. The porridge was well cooked and soft as in the cantonese style of cooking. With generous roasted duck meat and chicken in the porridge,no wonder it makes it so outstanding. Ever since my very first try of portugese egg tarts in macau, I have fall in love with it. The portugese egg tart from Crystal Jade My Bread was quite nice although it was no longer piping hot. The crust was very crispy and flaky and the custard was quite sweet but it has a very nice taste. The top layer of the custard was slightly burnt but that is the way it should be, in order to bring out the aroma of the tarts. Best BBQ char siew Bolo Bun I have eaten!! Thick butter and rich feelings of the char siew. never failed to grab one each time I pass by the store . Some times I tried the same type of Bun from those normal bread store but it just didn't taste as nice as the one from Crystal Jade's . Have you ever try the bo luo pau with butter? Frankly speaking,I have not seen or try the pau with butter before,even in hongkong. But I saw that in "Crystal Jade My Bread" and it was selling for $1.50 per piece. It was well worth it for the bo luo pau not only big in size but having an extra slice of butter inside the pau make it so so much outstanding in taste. I like to have lunch at this outlet because the standard of the food is good and I like the interior decor of this outlet. This time I had the chinese tea and it was refillable so it was definitely worth it at only a dollar. Just that the taste of the tea was not strong enough. Had congee again, and yes it was the chicken and duck congee. They do not have youtiao already, instead we were given cripsy crackers that you will see during the chinese new year's yusheng. Was attracted by their lunchtime 2-5pm 20percent off dimsum and selected noodles/rice and congee offer.However it was quite a disappointment that we did not get to try their famous hargau/steamed prawn dumpling even though we were there at about 3.20pm, the hargau were all sold out.Nevertheless it didnt dampen our mood as the other dimsums in the menu looks very appetising too.We ordered chasiu bun,fried prawn dumpling,beancurd prawn,carrot cake and more.We also had a roasted duck noodle that came with a small bowl of soup.The duck was roasted to perfection, with the skin glistening with juice.It was not oily at all and the duck meat was tender and i had a good chew.The noodle tasted like normal wanton noodle.For the dimsums, the carrot cake was rather oily , with oil traces here and there, but it taste good too, i like the level of saltiness and sesame oil fragrance.The beancurd prawn and prawn dumpling tasted normal.While the charxiu buns were a surprise, the bun is fluffy soft, and the inner charxiu fillings is moist and very rich in flavour, i ate 2 out of the 3 charsiu buns myself =)…查看更多

What’s nice and special about this Char Siew Sou from Crystal Jade is the special ingredients used in this petite triangle shaped pastry. It might not look good externally but the sweetness and moistness of the char siew used within is so good tasting, they are neither too sweet nor oily. It is one of the best dim-sum items served in Crystal Jade.The pastry is baked perfectly to its crispiness. The pastry is crispy but not oily and is coated with a layer of egg yolk to give that captivating appearance and the pastry is slightly thinner than the ones sold elsewhere. Feel like having noodles again so decided to try Crystal Jade's Black Pepper Chicken Udon dish. Not bad. The udon were al-dente. firm but not hard. Chicken was also ok. But somehow I just can't finish this dish although I was super hungry earlier on. Perhaps after awhile the sauce became a tad flat and heavy so my appetite turned for the worst. Did not expect to taste jap food in a chinese restaurant.I ordered the Black Pepper Udon to share with wifey.It is spicy and the sauce goes pretty well with the udon. However the chicken taste normal as they are cooked before being mixed with the pepper sauce. I like the huge slices of onion.We also had the Gui Ling Gao and Aloevera dessert.The Gui Ling Gao is smooth and not so sweet.
